I am pretty amazeballs!

I, me, myself, have just successfully put together a massive, heavy, ridiculous wood bunk bed.
I am the best! No really, I am stupid proud of myself. I just did some crazy manual labor for about 6 hours.
Granted, if I'd had help it would have been much easier. Moving furniture is always easier with a partner or two! But I lack those. So I did it my damn self.
When I was trying to manuever the top bunk bed frame into place, I dropped it and it fell square on my left foot. Not gonna lie, I thought my foot was broken for a hot minute.
It was super intense pain. I just sat there for about 20 minutes while I waited for some kind of feeling to come back into my foot/pain to recede a little. Good news is it's not broken. At least I don't think so heh. There is a super nasty, really livid bruise on my foot and a lot of the skin I had to peel off cuz it was all chafed. I was wearing thick socks so I'm thankful that helped cushion it a bit!

Anyway. So I set it all up and screwed it all together. I had to take the door off the hinges to get the big crib out and I still have to get the trundle bed out of the room but I can't figure out how to take it apart to fit it through the doorway. And I can't move the changing table by myself. I'm not super human and that thing is crrrrraaaazzzzy heavy. But the really hard work is done. I have to find a replacement bracket for the ladder because one of them has snapped in half. Not cool. I could jerry-rig it but I'd need a drill. Maybe I can borrow one from my mom.

I'm going to take down the ceiling fan in the kids room and put it in the living room to replace the one that has been broken in there for about 2 years and we haven't bothered to fix it. We need to! It's stinking hot. And the fan in their room is too close to the top bunk for my comfort. I've never taken down or put up a ceiling fan before! I guess I can do it. You'd be surprised what you can do when you have to!

All of this is to say,

I really miss my dad. :(

house, furniture, kids, ouch, i rock
