Outer Heaven Floorplans

The Outer Heaven Warehouse (now known as Outer Heaven: House of Optional Clothing) is a three story structure located near the outskirts of the Third District. For reasons of security, it continues to appear abandoned from the outside. There are traps near the entrances, the stairwell leading from the first to second floor is blocked (necessitating use of the elevator, hard to reach, or the fireladder, very unsafe), and residents are advised to keep windows shuttered when using electric lights.

The second and third floors have been refurbished to break down the larger storage rooms into personal quarters. There are two bathrooms equipped with communal showers. The kitchen and dining area is located on the second floor. The armory and mini-firing range exist... somewhere. Finally, the roof provides a nice view of the surrounding slums and the near beach.

Exterior. Imagine this but taller and broader.

Floorplan

The first floor is completely trashed, with Star of Bethlehem flowers growing wild on open patches of soil. Here is a better visual reference of the interior. This floor also serves as a paintball field for residents.

The residential quarters are sectioned off with semipermanent partitions to create distinct rooms. Sound-proofing is pretty bad. Tetanus is a frequent possibility. All residents are expected to help in the extermination of the local rat and cockroach infestation.

The third floor hallway is awash in orange paint, courtesy of our Embryon members marking their territory.

(Twin beds are used as a graphical standard, but they are not necessarily to size. Many warehouse furnishings come as a result of intensive trashpicking on-site procurement. The rest of the furniture is ad hoc. Expect a lot of cardboard boxes. However, residents are welcomed and encouraged to furnish their quarters however they wish.)

Room Assignments:

A- Cherry Darling (head of household)
B- Badou Nails
C- Heine Rammsteiner [Gray Fox]
D- Bonny Serge
E- Rook and Thom
F- Argilla, Gale

The basement is only accessible by elevator. It contains the laundry machines, the water heater and furnace for the building, and some general storage. Oh, and Heine's couch, which folds out into a bed as necessary.

Questions?

Q: How do I join Outer Heaven?
A: There is no formal process. The current residents all come from a strong military and/or survivalist background and are by default distrustful/wary of outsiders. If your character befriends one or more of the current residents, they have some combat and/or mechanical experience, and they seem trustworthy, you can inquire about getting a room. If a resident (ICly) has a problem with the character living with them, it can be put to a vote, but generally it's not an issue.

Q: How does rent work?
A: There is none! No bills for utilities either, because we're technically squatting. (This means that if the side of the police force that isn't crooked ever finds us living here, or the gods frown upon our lowlife ways, we can be thrown out at a moment's notice. In the meantime, free electricity and somewhat clean water is at our disposal.) Instead of rent, each resident pays into the warehouse by helping with regular chores (cleaning, pest control, maintenance, acquisitions, and meals if they can cook) and is expected to defend the building if it ever comes under attack. Residents can keep private savings from whatever job they have, but must contribute their share to the communal acquisitions fund for food and supplies. Any particularly large expense using the group fund must be agreed upon unanimously by everyone who put in.

Q: Can I live here even if I can't/don't want to contribute to the group fund?
A: You are strongly encouraged to add to the group fund if you're able to. If you don't have a job, you make up for it by taking up a larger portion of non-monetary obligations, like cleaning.

Q: Where can I see this all scheduled?
A: It isn't, really, so feel free to handwave.

Q: What is expected of me for supplies procurement?
A: Again, handwaved. But given an ingrained history of 'on-site procurement' (aka stealing), don't be surprised if some residents get by on petty theft and trashpicking. Presumably they actually shop for most of their groceries. However, the basic rule of thumb is still 'if you can get it for free, do it.' Outer Heaven is essentially where socially inept, kleptomaniac greencollars come to thrive.

Q: What's that noise coming from the basement?
A: Hush now.
