Adventures in the World of Audio
It takes me time to get through the Big Finish audio dramas, which is a shame because I enjoy them, but I can't listen to them and do other things at the same time as I miss bits and fall behind. So this afternoon I managed to sit down and listen to 'Snow Blind' due to losing my internet connection for a little while (it was almost painful having to help my mum on the internet on the PC...really it was) and as I forgot to put my reaction about 'Buried Secrets' up I'll do that now too. I'll try and keep it short.
Firstly I want to say how much I like the cover to 'Buried Secrets', it's very pretty and I wish I had a larger version, alas I don't (the BBC can have larger versions of the graphics from the covers of the first series but not the second? Bah!)
Secondly the music is a vast improvement from the first series of audios. The title music from the first series, I realised while putting them on my iPod, sounded a lot like something you'd probably find in a dodgy 60 & 70's porn movie. The new music sounds just right I think.
I like how they're starting them now, with the new reports, they did that with 'Test of Nerve' in the first series and I think its very clever, it leads into things and alludes to thinng to come. I like the music from that too...trend in what I like maybe?
It's over a week since I listened to 'Buried Secrets' so I can't remeber my first reactions, but it has set this series up nicely enough. Even if poor Nat had to get the rough end of the deal and she was greatly missed in 'Snow Blind', but it would have been hard to have her there. From the preview of the next one I don't think she's there too, but I'll live. She makes Josh's protectiveness a little less annoying somehow.
Speaking of that, wow Josh doesn't like Will.
Anyway, I was going to be quick. So to sum up, I liked them. They were very exciting I though, what with everybody wanting to kill Sarah. I was very shocked what happened to her in 'Buried Secrets'. But both very good, I look forward to the next one.
