For the sake of spoilers I'm not saying anything about the episode before the cut - I'm not even going post a picture to go with the episode like I normall do.
I don’t know how I feel about this one - well I do, I loved it, I can’t deny that I enjoyed it, but…there was just something a little off about it, but that still isn’t to say that I didn’t enjoy it.
It was so…full of action and it jumped backwards and forwards and I think for that reason it seemed a little fragmented on a whole as a story for me even if it was the method of telling that story. It just seemed like the last twenty minutes or so was like a whole different episode. There’s the Doctor working out how to fix everything and then everything that followed on how to save him was like a second part - but it all made sense.
There was also all these really bittersweet moments mixed with funny moments. Of course for me the thing that almost made me cry was Rory staying with the Pandorica for almost 2000 years, it was so heartbreaking! There were also totally awesome moments - like the scene before the opening credits when the Pandorica opens and there’s Amy! My jaw dropped at that, I didn’t expect that.
River is still totally kick ass - I think I like she’s the gray area between the light of the Doctor and the other companions and the dark of the Daleks and such. I also think the next time we see her something could go horribly wrong - that’s what I gathered from the last thing she said to the Doctor.
I wonder what the dynamic will be like with Rory and Amy both travelling with the Doctor and being married. I think that’s interesting - I love Rory and Amy together, but I don’t know if I like them married.
The thing about Doctor Who, things happen in one episode then in the final it suddenly all makes sense. I’ve always loved that - and I think the moment where the Doctor talks to Amy back in ‘Flesh and Stone’ was one of those moments you didn’t really expect to have any real importance - but it was probably one of the most important of the series as it’s what helped Amy remember the Doctor to bring him back in the final.
So…it was pretty wow in my opinion just…not as wow as last week.
