Went to court for the J-Walking ticket that I got 2 weeks ago. The judge threw it out.

Buffalo Wild Wings with Randy, sat at Jenn's and Nicole's (Amanda's hott lesbians) table. Before we left, Jenn gave me her number. Drank 4 beers. A few minutes before we were gonna leave, Kayce and her posse arrived, so I drank a beer with them.

Ok so here's the story. We (my roommate and I) live on the 9th floor of a 9-story building. I was walking home from the bar (it's really close), kinda wasted. I crossed the street (residential road, 25mph) and was walking through the parking lot when my roommate yelled down to me "you're gonna get pulled over" in a kinda joking manner. I had no idea what he was talking about, but then I noticed a cop car pulling into the parking lot behind me. So I did something really stupid. (The following was all on purpose:) I did a "double-take" of the cop car, said "oh shit" and took off running. I ended up running all of about 5 feet, between 2 cars near the building, just far enough so the cop couldn't quite see me for a sec. I then stopped running and continued walking towards the door. The cop pulled up next to me, rolled down the passenger window and said "come here". I already had my keys out and easily could have made it inside the building without the cop being able to follow me, but I complied with his request.

He asked me what I was doing and searched me. I said the usual "I don't really have time for this, I'd like to go now." (You say that if a cop stops you and you aren't doing anything wrong and he's supposed to let you go unless he has probable cause...) He said something about 4th Amendment Search and Seizure, explaining why he could detain me (because I "ran"). bla bla bla. He told me to get in the back seat of the car, and I said "I don't mind standing outside." He's like "Oh really? Get in the car." I did. He ran my license, wrote me a ticket for J-walking (saying that I crossed hte street at a 45-degree angle and walked slowly), and then let me go. As usual, I said "thank you" and left.
