Just a friendly reminder that works are due on Monday, May 25th.
You can submit your works via AO3 OR via email. We will post headers for AO3-hosted fics here on the community with a link to the work at AO3. If you submit your work via email it will be hosted here in the LJ community.
If you need an AO3 invite, please contact the mods, we have some to give out.
All works MUST have a header, this is in ADDITION to the header you will fill out on AO3. (This is so we can attach a header to your work here in the community.) All works must be appropriately tagged and formatted.
Header Guidelines and Samples
Please include a header either at the top of the story document or in the body of your e-mail. All headers MUST include title, recipient, author, characters/pairings, rating, warnings, and a summary. You may add word count or notes or whatever floats your boat, but you may not submit a story or artwork with an incomplete header.
This is the header for authors:
Title: Recipient: Author: (will be redacted until the reveal)
Characters/Pairings: Rating: Warnings: Summary: This is the header for artists:
Title: Recipient: Artist: (will be redacted until the reveal)
Characters/Pairings: Rating: Warnings: AO3 Submission Guidelines
Reminder: you MUST submit a header via email to the mods in addition to the header info you fill out as part of your AO3 submission. To submit your fic/work via AO3, please go to the Holmestice Summer 2015 sub-collection:
http://archiveofourown.org/collections/HolmesticeSummer2015 Click "post to collection". Fill out the Post New Work form as usual. Please include your recpient's AO3 name in the "gift to" field. Please do NOT select "show this work only to registered users" since our Holmestice participants may not all be registered users of AO3.
Your work will enter our queue. We will assign it a post date that corresponds to when the header will be posted here on the community. When we reveal authors on the solstice your story will appear in your works with all comments, kudos, bookmarks, etc. preserved. This is the first time we've done AO3 submissions so please be patient and bear with us as we work out the kinks.
Email Submission Guidelines
If you submit your work via email you can submit in the following file formats: .txt, .pages, .doc, .docx, .rtf or submitted directly in the body of the email. Email submissions MUST include a header and all works MUST be appropriately tagged.
Tag your story for html and add line breaks after paragraphs.
That means adding the relevant tags for italics, bold font or whatever other formatting you may need, as well as blank lines between paragraphs for easier reading. If you don't know how to html-tag,
here's a brief guide on which tags do what. If you need additional help, please contact us and we'll be happy to assist you.
Stories that haven't been tagged will be posted without italics and related formatting changes.
Podfics, Artwork, Vid submissions
Non-fic works can be hosted in mod accounts. We will host art, graphics, and vids here on LJ using their format and the mod account. Podfics can be uploaded to a mod's filesharing account. You are welcome to host your own content, however, it CANNOT be via an account that can be tied to your identity, fandom or otherwise. This includes imbedded content in AO3. We are happy to change URLs after the reveal for any non-fic content. Any specific questions, feel free to ask a mod.
