Great story. I like how you go through the push and pull and silent negotiations that go on between them as they both try to find their way through this relationship. I think you did really well showing the struggle John goes through especially between asserting his independence and trying to accommodate Sherlock's emotional deficiencies or inexperience or however you want to put it. And also that John made mistakes, that it's not just Sherlock who has to learn how to be in a real, committed relationship.

Love this. As others mentioned above, this is such a realistic look at John in a relationship with Sherlock, wherein he's not magically patient and understanding. And he continues to struggle with defining this thing between them, and his sexuality, but it's all very understated. In particular the whole "relapse" segment worked for me - the interplay of their disappointment in each other, and the details of the nurse and the needle and the bandaid are very vivid.
