Jude didn't sleep well that night. He kept feeling guilty for the things he said to Robert. Sure, taking their relationship to the next level was risky, but it really was worth it. What Robert said about him being a coward was true, he always had a tendency to pull out of things when they got too serious and being with Robert, even though they'd only kissed, was amazing.

He sighed and rolled out of the bed to get ready to film again. He would see Robert for a bit before filming began and he sorely needed to apologize.

When he got to set, he looked for Robert and when he found him he grasped his arm and pulled him to the lounge area. Robert sighed and crossed his arms across his chest.

"What do you want, Jude?"

Jude sighed and looked sadly at Robert, "I'm so sorry. For everything I said. You were right about me being a coward, I am scared. I'm terrified quite frankly, I wouldn't be able to live if you decided this was just a temporary thing and left."

Robert uncrossed his arms and placed his hand on Jude's face gently, "Hey, this is no temporary thing. You mean so much to me, I can't say it enough. I agree with you on one thing though..."

"What?" Jude said and raised an eyebrow.

"We need to be more careful." Robert smiled and looked around before quickly kissing Jude on his lips.

Jude kissed him back and they went back to set.

"Places everyone! This is for real this time! Lights please! And... action!"

Nicole raised the gun and pointed it at Robert. Robert raised his hands.

"Jada, listen to me. I adored your sister with every fiber of my being, you have to believe me!" Robert said and conveyed a pleading look.

"Nicole is working out quite well, I think we made a good choice." Matthew, the co-director said in Guy's ear while the scene continued.

"Yeah, she's doing great. Susan knows how to pick them." Guy smiled and watched the scene.

When Nicole pulled the trigger, a huge bang rang out throughout the set and when Robert grasped his side in pain, Guy started to have an uneasy feeling.

"Wow!" said Matthew, "That blood bag looks really realistic. What brand of prop blood did we use?"

"I don't know... Um... Richard?"

"Yes, sir?"

"Which pistol did you hand Nicole?" Guy said, fear in his voice.

"The one that was laying on the chair."

Guy's heart froze, "Shit!" He jumped out of his chair, "Cut! Richard, you're fucking fired!" He ran onto the set and pointed at one of the stagehands, "You! Call 911!" He looked at the dazed camera man, who apparently hadn't gotten the cue. "I said cut! Shut that goddamn camera off!"

Jude and Nicole looked on with confusion, "Guy, what's going on?"

"That was a real bullet."

Jude felt his heart drop to his stomach and Nicole gasped, "What?! You mean I really shot... Oh my God."

Guy rushed over to Robert and held his head up, "Robert, come on man, wake up."

Robert slowly opened his eyes and grunted, "Damn, Guy. If I was getting too old for the role, you could've just told me."

Guy sighed, "I'm so sorry mate, fucking new prop guy messed shit up. We're gonna get you an ambulance, you'll be alright. Jude!"

Jude jumped to attention and knelt beside Guy, "Keep pressure on the wound, I'm going to go make sure the ambulance makes it to the right set."

Jude took Robert from Guy with tears in his eyes, "Oh God, Robert..."

"Shhh. Everything's gonna be fine, Judesie."

Jude felt the first tears pour down his face as he stroked Robert's cheek. "You hang in there, okay? I can't lose you."

Robert grunted again and Jude could tell he was slipping fast. "Jude... I... I have to tell you something."

"What is it, Rob?"

"I meant it. That night when I called you after I'd been drinking. I meant every word I said. I'm in love with you, Jude. Always have been."

Jude shook his head, "No, don't you do that! Don't you dare make your final confessions, you're going to make it through this!" Jude said, his hand shaking against Robert's cheek.

"It hurts... so much." Robert gasped and squeezed his eyes shut.

"I know... I know it does, but you have to stay awake, okay?" Jude said, tears still running down his face.

"Jude... do something for me?" Robert groaned.

"Yes, anything love."

"Kiss me."

"Robert... I can't..."

"Please?" Robert looked at Jude with such desperation that Jude sighed and brushed the hair out of Robert's face before starting to lean down.

"Okay... okay."

Jude closed his eyes as their lips met, still as electrifying as their first. Slowly, he began to realize that his kiss was no longer being returned. He pulled back slowly and saw Robert's eyes were still closed.

"Robert?" Jude felt his heart stop in his chest.

"Rob..." He placed his hand on Robert's chest, but there was no movement.

"No... no! Robert?! Robert!" Jude started to panic and felt desperately for a pulse.

There was none.

"Oh God, no! Robert!" Jude cradled Robert against him, shaking.

Suddenly he felt hands on his shoulders, pulling him away.

"No! No, I can't leave him! NO!"

Nicole turned him towards her and held him close, "Shhh... Jude, he's gone. He's gone."

Jude pushed her away and stared at Robert's motionless form. He sat still as the world rushed around him, all the times he spent with Robert running through his head. His vision began to blur and he could faintly see the paramedics rush to Robert's side. They began putting meters on him and attempting to stem the bleeding.

The tears flowed down Jude's face and he began to ache all over.

Gone... He's gone. Oh God, how could this happen? How am I supposed to live without him?

Jude's thoughts were interrupted by a loud voice, a paramedic.

"We have a pulse!"
