The reason I wanted to post this one (besides it's on-topicness with Robert) is the comment Robert makes at :37 -- and, especially, Susan's expression. O.o

"I'm happy it's real. It'd be weird if we were faking itAnybody else (you guys are the only ones I know who might!) think that it's a little weird? To get a compliment on the great ( Read more... )

My friend and I had a total discussion on this the day after the awards. Both of us thought it was odd that he kind of embellishes on the comment, and the look on her face is equally odd at that moment. The other thing was a tad of a condescending tone when he talks about her clothing choices..."Oh, we like Chanel lately, don't we?" Then again, like you said, maybe we're losin' our minds... LOL! A little slash goes a LONG way... :D

Ok, first of all, I don't think that they're faking it. But it was a cruel thing for him to speak it out because it's a total different thing if you had such thought fleetingly (which I had in the past because there are so many people, relationships, attitudes and lifestyles in Hollywood that are actually fake) or if it is said out loud by the involved person. But I really can't imagine that their love isn't true. A person as unstable as he is wouldn't be able to function without real passionate love. They are always together, whether to go shopping, strolling at the beach, doing movies. They permanently touch, kiss and cuddle. I really believe that he needs her (though, maybe more than she needs him) and that she's the main reason why he managed to turn his life around and he definitely owes his success partly to her as well. If all of their affection towards each other is a huge lie, then both of them would deserve all the Oscars the Academy has ever given out ( ... )

Oh my God, everything you said! I have never doubted in my mind that Robert and Susan are in love and I still believe that they'll be one of the few Hollywood marriages that makes it. I mean, it's like Robert said, he's probably be dead or working at a burger joint if it wasn't for Susan.

Who knows what's going on between those three. I still have a nagging thought in my head that they'll pull something similar to what they did at the Oscars again, possibly on a grander, more shocking scale. We'll never know what's really going on and, honestly, as much as I want to know and want to believe what my slash mind tells me, I'm cool with never knowing.

I just rewatched it and, yeah, Robert totally said, "I don't know why I'd be faking it." Right there at :42. Whoa. And he does kind of look like he's rolling his eyes after he makes the Chanel comment.

I don't know, I don't know. My mind is overanalyzing that whole night.

Yeah, see, IDK either. With the presentation, Robert made if very clear (at least in interviews we got to see after the fact) that he'd written the majority of their back and forth on stage, so that's covered afaic. (B)romance, ftw and all that. XD

And yeah, he really had a look at the Chanel thing, huh? I was like "... O.O Wut?!"

Malm mentioned below that maybe Robert was bored with the fashion talk but from what I've heard, the man loves fashion like I love cupcakes - and he did seem to relish talking about his shnazzy suit and watch and all. We only really got that reaction when they were talking about Susan's dress. o.O

I can imagine what kind of effect it had having his words about "tripped-out frauds" in mind and then hearing this sentence spoken in such a manner. You were more sensitve than normal to such things ( ... )
