Title: Splendid Eyes
Pairing: RDJ/Judesie (Holmes/Watson)

Disclaimer: no money was made from writing this ficlet. I just borrowed these sexy men for a while. That's all. ♥

This is my first post to this community! Recently, margo_lett posted a fanfic called "Revelations" which was my plot. I had thought myself unable to work it out by myself, so I collaborated with her kinda. Today I wanted her to write more for me when I had another fic idea, cos she's an amazing author, but she said I should write it myself lol! So here it is :D Enjoy it ^^

Splendid Eyes

In London, England, Robert Downey Jr and his co-star Jude Law were shooting a scene for the movie Sherlock Holmes. They just came out of make-up and sat down in the carriage, on opposite sides of each other, and the carriage soon started moving.

“All set? 3, 2, 1 rolling!”

Holmes was quick, wasting no time to taunt his companion even more, as he snatched the waistlet away from Watson.

“That was my waistlet,” the doctor says quietly.

“I thought we agreed it’s too small for you,” dark brown eyes sparkling challengingly.

“I like it back.”

“I thought we agreed,” Holmes said stubbornly as Watson grabbed the waistlet. Of course Holmes didn’t let go. He pulled on it, but Watson never let go either.

“I want it BACK,” Watson snapped, blue eyes blazing.

Holmes pulled on the waistlet a little more, but gave up and let go of it. Watson held it in his hands for only a moment longer, before throwing it out of the carriage.

Holmes glances over his shoulder, and back to his companion, who just peeks at him. Then he smiled. That gorgeous smile.

“CUT! That was great! Stop the carriage!” Director Guy Ritchie called.

The carriage soon came to a halt and Guy approached. “That was great-“

“Guy? Can we take five, we need your advice for a piece of the decor,” a staff member interrupted.

“Ah, sure. Hold on a minute, alright boys? Just wait here,” and Guy walked off with the staff member.

Jude looks out the window at the river, thinking of the scene they just shot. How much of a nuisance Holmes actually is to Watson. He really acts like a spoiled child.

On the other side of the carriage sits Robert, grinning like the Cheshire cat at Jude’s serious face. “Are you still feeling Watson’s resentment for Holmes, by any chance?”

The Brit snaps out of his musings and turns to face his co-star, eyes bright as he breaks into a smile. He laughs softly.

“No, no, not at all. I was just thinking and concentrating. You know, I really think you’re acting like a child with Watson in this scene, grabbing his waistlet like that… pulling on it, really, what is that about…”

“What, me? I’m not Sherlock Holmes, it’s just the role,” Robert defends, almost pouting.

Jude never stopped smiling.

“Besides, it’s because I thought we agreed it was too small for you,” the dark-haired actor adds quietly.

Jude laughs from the heart and gazes at the man before him.

Robert’s heart flutters at the sublime sight of his friend and co-star, smiling a gorgeous smile, as those pale blue eyes sparkled delightfully.

They slip into a comfortable silence and Robert just gazes at the blue-eyed man who he had come to adore and love, much more than he would ever dare to say.

As the voices of the staff buzz around them quietly, Robert just muses how gorgeous the man sitting across him is, even like this, when he’s simply gazing outside. His profile is perfection, but his eyes are splendid, really.

“Your eyes are splendid,” Robert murmurs.

Jude’s eyes flick from the window to his co-star but he says nothing. His eyes, however, ask all the questions in the world.

Had he heard correctly what Robert just said? His eyes? Splendid? It was perhaps the most beautiful compliment he’d ever gotten, but why did Robert suddenly say this? And why did he think so? Did he really actually think his eyes were splendid? His heart beat increased as he felt butterflies flutter around, deep inside of him. His heart trembled.

“Your eyes speak, Jude,” Robert said quietly, moving ever so slightly, resting his chin on his hand, arm leaning on his knee, as he seemed to study his friend.

Jude swallowed nervously. “Really,” he asked meekly. His heart beat loudly with anticipation.

“Yes. You’re wondering why I just said such a random, and perhaps odd, thing,” the man started.

“…Yes,” Jude whispered.

“And then you wondered why. Why I think your eyes are splendid. And I really do. Would you like to know why, Judesie?” Robert asked huskily.

“Yes,” the other man breathed.

“The colour of your eyes is amazing. Clear blue, like the sky on a perfect mid-summer’s day. Or clear blue like fresh water from a creek. But not just clear blue. Sometimes your eyes seem to be a misty, pale blue. With a dark edge around the irises, complimenting the paleness.”

Jude was stunned and wanted to say something, but he couldn’t. All coherent thoughts left his head and he just gazed at the man in front of him.

“Your eyes tell your emotions. When you are happy, they sparkle with delight, the dark border of your irises protecting the mesh of blue hues…” the American trailed off, pausing momentarily before sitting on the edge of his seat, and leaning into the man in front of him, gazing deeply into those splendid eyes.

“And in moments like these, when you muse about things, your eyes tremble, as if dying to know certain things…” he whispered.

Pale blue eyes met hazel eyes, and Jude drowned into those eyes, which he thought were absolutely splendid as well.

Robert’s eyes flicked down, to the other man’s lips for only a moment, but Jude did not miss it and his heart fluttered.

“Robert…” he whispered, leaning in slowly, as if in slow motion.

Their lips tentatively met and brushed softly, tenderly. There was nothing in the world except for this, this moment of pure bliss, Jude decided. He cupped the other man’s face with his left hand, but then it trailed down, down his throat, down to the collarbone, as he felt Robert’s hand on his neck, softly pulling him closer.

“Guys? We’re ready to continue filming now!”

They both pulled back a bit, startled by the distant, but sudden voice of their director from somewhere on the set. Their eyes were wide, their hearts beating fast, as they realised what had just happened between them.

For a long time, neither man said a word, but their eyes said everything.
