Hey, everybody. Let's sit down and have a chat.
When the rules were first drawn up, I - the sole proprietor at the time - never, ever expected the community to get this big. We now have 980 members. That's incredible, but there's a big difference between a small comm and a big one, and they have to be run a little differently. Bottom line? The rules that we have aren't working out, and I'd like to make a few changes.
Tagging Rules - there is now a post, explaining each of the tags. I love ridiculous tags, but I want things to stay as clear and findable as possible. Please go through the effort of learnings what these tags are for.
And now, the big change.
It doesn't matter if someone's posted it already; chances are, it will be new to someone! - This is going to go. We have a lot of previously discussed/posted content in this community. In fact, about 80% of the comm posts are discussion posts, or interview sharing/squealing. This is wonderful, however - it's gotten to the point where, if you're new, the polite thing to do would be to check back and see what's already been posted. There is a ton of great stuff there, and don't feel bad about commenting on a post that's weeks old!
So. If you're going to post something, it must not only be relevant, but it can't have been posted before. If you're not sure, PM a mod. All of us are pretty damn addicted to this community and know every post, every interview, and every instance down to the last detail.
If you have a question or you want to find a particular fic/interview/news item and feel overwhelmed searching for it yourself - go to
holmes_finders! They are an entire community for exactly this kind of inquiry.
And now, how we're going to police this.
This community has a fantastic mod team. There's myself (
igrab),
random00,
citiesfalling, and two new moderators:
lafemmeluna and
equusdraco, which makes a grand total of five people you can talk to. We're all pretty much in constant contact with each other and we're all friends, so if one of us doesn't have the answer, we'll find someone who does. We also all have the authority to tell you to stop.
If a post is made that we don't feel is relevant enough, someone will give you a warning, explaining why there's an objection. You'll have 24 hours to fix it however you like, but if it's still there, unchanged, after that time, it will simply be removed.
I know this all sounds a bit harsh, but if anything, it's a challenge to up the quality of your posts :) the following will always be happily accepted:
Fics
Arts
Graphics
Vids
Picspams
Discussions
News posts
New interviews
We, the mods, are going to try and run more games and challenges - and if you have any ideas for something you'd like to see, send us a PM! Communication is, after all, the key to a successful relationship ♥
