Hey guys! Okay, in this post I am going to outline fic turn-in/posting procedure as best as possible. I've never done this before, so if anyone has any legitimate suggestions, feel free to comment and I will take them under consideration. Once again, I apologise to everyone whose writer has dropped out and has been rendered unable to do art; next year, I'll change up the procedure a little to hopefully cut down on that happening.
Fic Posting Procedure, or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Realise That I'm Awesome
So you finished your fic! You got it shipped off to your artist! They illustrated or mixed for it! Congratulations. You are now through the worst bit of the Holmes Big Bang challenge. Pat yourself on the back. Have a martini. OD on your favourite TV shows and ice cream. All done? Now, onto the outline:
1) If you are done with your fic, please send it as an attachment to twitchy_kris@hotmail.com. This is a way for me to keep count of everyone that is done so I can mark you as such!
2) I will not be posting the fics for you. I don't know how you want the body of your work formatted, what journal you want it linked to, etc. However, there is a simple header structure that you must follow:
Title of Fic:
Pairing:
Word Count:
Rating/Warnings:
Notes:
Summary:
Then link to the fic via a hyperlink to whatever journal you've posted it in ((the hyperlink can be anywhere)). For your bonus content, use the following format:
Fanmix/Illustration:
hyperlink title by [insert username]
If you have both, just do one for the fanmix and one for the illustration. Please label which is which!
3) As for when you post your fic, that's what we're going to find out in this post. The fics are going to be posted the week of July 5 - 9. NOTE: if I have given you prior permission to post on the 12th, that's when you'll be posting. All your fics and art should be done by July 1. Thus, this shouldn't be a problem.
For fear of not everyone signing up, I'm just going to assign posting days alphabetically, unless a majority has an objection to that, which is totally possible. If your username begins with A - E, you'll be posting on July 5. If your username begins with F - L, you'll be posting on July 6. If your username begins with M - R, you'll be posting on July 7. If your username begins with S - V, you'll be posting on July 8. If your username begins with W - Z, you'll be posting on July 9. Does this make sense to everybody? It just seems the most fair way to do it, but like I said, I'm open to suggestions!
If you have a scheduling conflict, PM me and I'll do my best to resolve it. Please, if you don't think you're going to be finished by July 1, tell me and your artist.
Before this begins, I would just like to thank every last one of you who has been participating in this. I've never modded a big bang challenge before and it has truly been an eye-opening experience, and I have many tips in mind to make next year's even better, if there's still a demand for it! Thank you all for investing your time, and I look forward to reading everyone's work! \o/
