Chapter One: Betrayal
House swallowed a Vicodin. Then he frowned. The vicodin wasn't doing anything to lessen the pain in his leg. And it was getting worse...
Gritting his teeth, he reached for his cell phone and dialled Wilson's number.
"Hello?" a femimine voice asked. House, fighting to stay aware of the world outside his pain, didn't register that the voice belonged to someone other than Wilson.
"Wilson, it's House. I think there's something wrong with my leg," House gasped.
"Why don't you call 9-1-1 then? I'm sure they can help you," the voice asked as someone else asked a question in the background. The voice gave a muffled reply, then hung up.
"Wha-Wilson!?" exclaimed House, confused. He tried to redial Wilson's number...
"Who is this?" demanded an angry voice.
"Who do you think it is?" House demanded, still thinking he was talking to Wilson.
"House!?" Thirteen exclaimed.
Finally it registered in House's brain that he wasn't talking to Wilson.
"Thirteen, get over here right now," House ordered his fellow.
"Why? What's wrong?"
"Just get over here."
"The hospital?"
"My place," House corrected, too weak to come up with a snarky retort.
Thirteen was out the door and well on her way to House's place five minutes later.

Amber woke up. It took her a moment to register that Wilson's phone was ringing. She picked it up and looked at the lit screen. House was calling.
Probably nothing worth waking Wilson about...
So she answered.
"Hello?"
"Wilson, it's House. I think there's something wrong with my leg," her boyfriend's friend gasped in answer.
House must be drunk...or high, she thought to herself.
"Why don't you call 9-1-1 then? I'm sure they can help you," Amber snapped as Wilson groggiedly asked her who it was.
"Wrong number," Amber lied as she hung up on House without another word.

Chapter Two: His Savior
House heard pounding on his door and someone yelling "Did someone call for paramedics?"
"It's unlocked!" he rasped.
Another wave of pain crested over him and he knew no more....
~*~
Thirteen had already started her car when she realised that she didn't know where House lived. She pulled her cell phone out of its holster on her purse and dialed a number.
~*~
RING! RING!
Cuddy looked up from the paperwork she'd taken home with her that night and answered the phone.
"Cuddy."
"Dr. Cuddy. It's Thirteen. I need you to send an ambulance to Dr. House's place."
"Fine, but you'd better be on your way to the hospital yourself to explain what's going on," Cuddy said.
"I am," replied the young doctor before hanging up.
~*~
Cuddy and Thirteen arrived at the hospital almost at the same time, just minutes after House had arrived in the ER, where Cameron was on duty.
Cameron met Cuddy and Thirteen in the ER waiting room.
"How is he?" Cuddy asked the immunologist.
"Sedated," Cameron replied, adding, "Where's Wilson?"
"House tried to call him, but he misdialed and called me instead," Thirteen replied.
"Cuddy, why don't you call Wilson. There's something I need to talk to Thirteen about."
