I was thinking of starting up some sort of internet store, wherein I would sell stuff that I've made. Anyone on my f-list have any advice for me in doing this sort of thing?
I'll second Etsy, as it's the place folks go to look for handmade.
You need a paypal account, and a debit or credit card would be nice as well. You should also get a postal scale, so you know what your item weighs for shipping. You can find out what stuff costs to ship through UPS, or USPS or whatever through their website. (You'll just need to know what your item weighs.)
I have seen some stuff listed as 'free' on the shipping. Sometimes I wonder if that's because the seller got confused with shipping and decided to just go that way.
You can also try eBay. You need a credit card to sell on eBay. (though you might be able to use a debit card as well.)
I've seen some handmade stuff go for quite a bit on eBay. (Like Greydog's hairsticks. They go for a few hundred.) On eBay stuff is sometimes auctioned off so it can go for higher amounts than if you post it for a specific price on Etsy.
I have seen some sellers whom sell on Etsy and eBay.
Oh, Etsy also has lots of articles from successful sellers that can help you starting your business.
