You know what drives me bananas? That I have photos everywhere. I have photos on Yahoo! Photos on
Snapfish,
Kodak Gallery,
Flickr,
Picasa and on my laptop. I just want the damn photos in one freakin' place. Originally, I had ofoto. I liked Ofoto. But, then Ofoto got sold or something and told me to use Kodak. Well, by then I had already discovered Snapfish, so I was like ok, Snapfish it is. It allowed me to share photos, by digi-pics, add captions and basically have an online scrapbook. However, friends of mine whom had their own minds and couldn't be co-erced to use Snapfish, used Kodak Gallery and I had to sign up for an account anyway if I wanted to see pictures! And of course I coudln't transfer pics from Kodak to Snapfish without tedious work. Then there's Yahoo! I don't know why I have photos on Yahoo! *Thinks about it* I really don't. Maybe for the ease of sharing with other people who have Yahoo email address? Who knows?
More recently, I signed up for Flickr and Picasa. I signed up for Flickr because
lisamarie77 and
codigodor convinced me that it is the best and that I can share pictures with people and leave cool captions and have groups and what not. But, you can't directly order prints from Flickr yet and I find that annoying. Also, I can't group my pictures into albums without paying money for it and that's just not going to work for me.
Now Picasa I signed up for because it came with neat photo editing tools and I needed to make a photo collage for a recent project. Picasa also is a Google product and so far Google has made me happy so I may just move to Picasa for the intergration factors. Also, Picasa touts that it can save captions WITH your photos, so no matter where you send or save them, the captions remain. That is awesome to me because I hate to have to recaption a photo if I upload it elsewhere.
But, what I want is one tool that will grab all of these pictures, not just the ones on my hard drive and put them in one place for me. Is that so much to ask?
