Summertime and the Livin's Easy

I put on my favorite radio station, 100.1 KSPN.  The sliding door is open to invite in the fresh 65 degree Colorado air.  My mountains still stand steadfast with their blankets of melting snow just across the valley.  My dog is curled at my feet.  The green is bursting from the hillsides and I've already been in contact with old friends.  Hiking, camping, sailing, training martial arts, reading and relaxing all are possibilities that will be realized the weekends of this summer.  I'm home and it feels amazing!

The big city is a force of its own, but the rural atmosphere of my Rocky Mountains and the crisp sunshine lapping at my shoulder (Thank you, Mr. Denver) gives me an outlook on what the summer will hold and is beyond priceless.  I'm back to train in martial arts with those who have been my second family for over ten years.  My parents and brother are again within my reach and I know that Kyle and Bruiser and I will be hiking endlessly over the next few months.  I want to study, to read, to get out in my nature, the place where I was born, reared and proudly call home.

I'm home for the summer and it feels amazing!
