More A2A conspiracy theories...

Yesterday I mentioned how there have been ideas floating around about the possibility of The Clown being played by the same actor as Alex's father, but the father is uncredited so it's been difficult to confirm this theory.

But the fact that the editing pointed us to think in this direction really made me pause and, well...think! Here's what I've come up with...

A study of the facial features. The first thing to do would be to focus on the eyes and eyebrows as these are such individual facets, however, The Clown is obviously in a lot of make up and these particular features are obscured and even augmented (the eyebrow especially). And the Dad is wearing glasses (a very Clark Kent-ian way of hiding ones true identity) to distract.

Lucky for us the shot they keep re-using of the Dad is blocked so that we see him from the left side in a medium angle. We're close enough to clearly see the left of his face and that's exactly the location of the distinguishing feature that we're looking for... a mole on his left cheek. Our CLUE!

EXHIBIT A:

And guess who has the same exact mole on the left side of his cheek???

EXHIBIT B:

So there you have it. NOW WHAT THE HELL DOES IT MEAN???

Clearly it's massively significant, but I feel that it goes much further that the obvious INSANE DADDY ISSUES! Especially since her father is perceived to be her savior. I say this based on the fact that it's her mother that's shown to be the cold adulterous one and the father is her solace with all the hugging and twirling that we've seen in the flashbacks.

Eeeee! Themes!

ashes to ashes
