I Shoulda Done Made Dis Post Ages Ago!
We've got quite the variety of fandoms to cover, so ahem, in no particular order, here we go:
BATTLESTAR GALACTICA:
- Only by
cherryice is an incredible Final Four video. This was a VVC entry so it's tight and thought out. And the summary says it all -- What does it take before you're considered a person? The parallels drawn will really make you think.
- Falling From the Sky by
jarrow272 is another VVC vid. It's bangin', this vid. Amazing tight editing, perfect use of the song, with some wonderful storytelling to boot. And if anyone's curious about how intense the vidding process can get, just read those vid notes! Woof. ;)
- Headlights by
buffyann. This video...this video has been on repeat on my iPod for weeks! It has actually made me cry, and therefore I say it's my favorite Starbuck vid ever. What an incredible character study. Seriously, I wish I could edit vids that are this good. Wow. Massive vidder envy.
STARGATE ATLANTIS:
- Battleflag by
keewick. Awesome! The summary -- Got a revolution behind my eyes, we got to get up and organize. It's another VVC vid and it is brilliant!!! Totally fun and actiony with hilarious lyrical interpretation to the most unusual song. I love it! It's another one I've got on repeat at the moment on zee iPods. ;)
TORCHWOOD:
- Set the Fire to the Third Bar by
sol_se is a Jack/Ianto vid that must must MUST be watched even if that pairing is not your bag (which it most definitely isn't mine). The video is heartbreaking and haunting and is just perfect. So do yourself a favor and dl it.
HEROES:
- Stronger Forest by
kiki_miserychic is another VVC vid. It's a Sylar character study that's unique in style and music. I don't even watch Heroes but this video is totally impressive so the lurv must be spread.
DOCTOR WHO:
- Your Time is Now by
gregorysgirl23 is a really intriguing Martha Jones video set to "Butterflies & Hurricanes" by Muse. This should be watched because a.) the world needs more Martha vids, and b.) it's really well thought out and plotted, has good pacing, and really powerful clip choice including the most creative thing ever that happens at 3:20. I totally burst out laughing when I first saw it. ;)
- Oil & Water by
rhoboat. It's a great look at the intriguing thing that is Ten/Martha. I said the world needed more Martha vids. Well here you go. :P
- Sing for Absolution by
humansrsuperior. Mmm-hmm. Another Muse song and another fantastic video by HRS. She adapts a fun style in this one (that I'm also currently obsessed with) which is still frames. Everything is well timed, gorgeous, and will rip your heart out in that good way that only HRS knows how. (Oopsie. I just realized I already recced this one, but this post is more organized and what the hell, the vid deserves it.)
- What I've Done by
jagwriter78 is ZOMGWTF awesome. Dark!Ten should sell it, but let me sweeten it up for ya some more. Wicked editing! Intense storytelling! Sharp style! Just watch it already.
