Well not really. In my dreams it does. But this year it's better than frakking evah!!!
We got Visual Effects, Sound Editing, and Outstanding Directing (all for "Exodus pt. 2"). And a special uber bonus for Outstanding Writing (RDM's oh so gorgeous script for "Occupation/Precipice".)
Complete list of nominations (and it's a bloody loooong list)
here.
Ehm. Yeah. This proves one thing...The New Caprica arc was absolutely the BEST BLOODY THING ON TELEVISION!!! ajsdkskskdkjvkbs!!!!!!!
It's like when they were making it, they must have felt they were doing something beyond just a normal show. It makes me absolutely proud to be a BSG fan. I don't care that Heroes and The Sopranos will actually win the awards, (well, I do care, but what can you do, right?) because BSG finally broke through and got some pretty damn prestigious categories. (And I have never seen better vis. fx than "Exodus pt. 2" so I will murder someone if frakking Heroes wins. Or Grey's Anatomy. Because I was like, "What are you doing on this list, Grey's?")
*pumps fist* So say we all!!!
ETA: My theory on why BSG suddenly got so many nominations...
Typical Emmy Voter: *watches his screener of The Office while eating some popcorn* (because clearly that got watched).
Dwight: "Do you watch Battlestar Galactica?"
Jim: "Bears. Beets. Battlestar Galactica."
Typical Emmy Voter: *raises eyebrow* *rummages through pile of screeners* *finds BSG screener* *puts it into DVD player* *watches it while eating popcorn* *has orgasms form all the awesome* *votes for BSG*
Thank you The Office! I hope you win. Except I also really love 30 Rock. Damn.
