The Last Time Through the Gate + Vid Recs
SG-1 10x20 - "Unending." I just watched it. The last one. The finale.
Thank you SG-1 for being excellent and daring and super awesome. Daring is the word of the night because there was no action. Well there was, but only in the first act or so. And after that, well if our team is stranded on a ship of fifty years, there's nothing left to do but finally have glorious character moments and developments! *bows to Rob Cooper*
Glorious moments such as Cam going apeshit on his room, or Landry always looking out that window, or Carter never taking off her dog tags even though she's been wearing her civies for years. And the most glorious moment of all, Daniel going apeshit on Vala and then FINALLY getting it on with her!!! *prostrates self before Rob Cooper*
Claudia Black is a golden goddess of acting skillz. The woman is a gift to sci-fi. She can take any line in any situation and make it genuine, especially when she does that signature tear. And she's master of the tear! So watch out, because she's a frakking riot, too! *continues to prostrate self before Rob Cooper for being a Vala fan himself and making my little fangirl world a better place by having CB in the cast*
A great many things went on in this here series finale. Indeed. The return of Thor, the glorious activities going on for the years and years they were stuck on the ship. Not so much with the old-people make-up though. Ben Browder looked like his face was melting while CB's face looked like a crazy mask. Kinda took me out of the moment a little bit, but a necessary evil. It was daring, after all! And Vala totally had a miscarriage. So says that bit of the montage when Daniel was comforting her. That was not a "there, there, it's not that boring here on the ship" kind of comforting. No, sir.
But the eppy ended on a very bittersweet note with all the great call backs. The gate spinning. The full blown chevron count. Even the shot of the event horizon was from the first ep! SG-1, I salute you. You shall be missed...until the movies come out...and Carter joins SGA. :P <333333
F-list, you have been busy today! I've seen lots of pretty things fly by. Lots of new vids! I shall get to watching those shortly. But for now, I have two BSG vids to rec. They were posted last week, so if you haven't seen 'em already, you must. Must, I tell you!

petitevanou's amazing and uber creepy Kara/Leoban vid Bullet Boy. It's amazing editing, but most importantly it tells a story. Watch out for a particularly genius moment involving wind and how it's used in terms of Kara and Leoban's last moments.
