Non-VVC Vid Recs!

Aug 28, 2009 17:01

Vividcon post w/recs is on its way! (So is the audio commentary for Marble House. At some point. I hope.) But in the meantime here are a couple recent non-VVC vids that somehow managed to jump me with their awesome
and ride me like a pony.

Blackout by humansrsuperior. This is a beautiful, brutal look at Ten/Rose that's (unfortunately) unique to the DW fandom. ( Read more... )

I know, nothing to see at all. ;)

It was but I loved it. Very cathartic. I have some complicated feelings when it comes to Ten at the moment...

edit: OMG. I just saw a commercial for Megashark vs Giant Octopus on SciFi (no, I won't call it SyFy). LMFAO!

You're supposed to have complicated feelings towards Ten, so you're doing it right. ;)

Eeeee!!!! Megashard v. Giant Octopus!!!!!!!!!!;dbfk;sdBF;JB

Good to know. He invokes many emotions all at once, it's intriguing. ;)

It's on tonight! I won't watch it because morbid curiosity isn't enough to make me endure that but the advertisement campaign is hysterical.

Word, I think I'm either watching intense Lars von Trier stuff or Tarantino. Being very filmy this evening.

Well you're sort of filmy by definition so its probably a pretty comfortable choice. ;)

Continuing my BoB marathon re-watch with my sister. Bastogne here we come.

Looks like Tarantino is winning out. Roomy is getting afraid of von Trier possibilities.

OMG I WANT TO BE WATCHING BoB THO!!!! JELUZ!!!!!

Take your word for it. I'll admit I don't know who von Trier is by name but might know some of the films? *thinks optimistically*

You don't own it?! We have two copies in our house.

Oof. Well you might be better off not knowing him. He's a special case. Here's his imdb. He's definitely talented and makes fantastic films (well, some of them) but he's a misogynist and a bit of a maniac. It's because of him Bjork will never act again and she was amazing in
Dancer in the Dark.

Not! I totally own it. It's just...no one is obsessed with it like I am so if re-watchings happen they happen when I can steal the TV long enough. Once I marathoned the whole thing though over a weekend. Was soooo goood.

Ah ha. yeah I'll pass on special, crazy dude at the moment but I believe you his films are good... sometimes. ;)

That's how I watched it the first time. All 10 episodes in one day. It's how I recommend people should watch it for the first time because you get so attached to everyone so by Bastogne when people start dying it's like loosing a friend. Really intense.

Heh. Hours later and we're STILL deciding on what to watch.

Wow you did it in one day! That's impressive. I think the most I can watch of anything in a day is 6 hours straight. Then I start feeling insane. Hmm, let's see, the first time I watched it was when it was on so weekly eps. :)

(Just caught the end of Seeker on telly. It had the preview for "Conversion" which I had deemed The Most Watched Preview By Me. Good times!)

Haha. Sounds like a night at my house.

Yeah, by Breaking Point I thought I was going to go insane. When it was over I felt like I'd been run over. I think I avoided screens for three days.

(EEE! Such a good episode. I need to begin a re-watch of S1. Revenant was watched a number of times by me but Reckoning and Conversion were probably more...)

Well Kill Bill won over. Part 1 just ended. So good.

Still wish I was watching BoB. :/

(Ah Reckoning. Yeah that and Revenant were tied for second for me.)

Good choice.

My sister flaked to do some work so now its Friday Night Lights with my other sis.

(All three of them were fun promos to watch and dissect)
