I'm back!
Hey everyone! I'm back from camp! I can't sleep at the moment, because I fell asleep on the couch earlier, so I came to make a post about my experience at Musical Theater Camp.
Highlights:
~Greg the mouse.
~Master class with Florence Birdwell.
~Visiting the JR. camp floor.
~The incredible bond all the cast members had.
~Walking in on Sarah and Dillian making out. "WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING?!"
~Michael's monolouge.
~Waiting for Guffman.
~Being stalked by scary mexican guys in a golf cart.
~The Belvin dance.
~WRITE THE LETTER!!
~Ashley.
~Dancing to Crocodile Rock.
Those were just some of the things that I remember the most. The breakdown of my day was this: Woke up at 7 and worked out until about 8 and then I went to breakfast. After that we had dance from 9 to 10:30 and then usually improv or tech. Then came lunch and from 2-5 we had master class or acting class or we worked on the show. After 5 we ate dinner and at 7 we blocked the scenes and/or ran the show.
We put on a modern version of "Cinderella". I was a lady-in-waiting. I got to tug-of-war with the prince. It was SO amazing. Everyone in the cast had so much talent and drive to be on stage that it was staggering to be a such a great place. Everyone bonded so well. There was almost NO drama at all! The whole cast got along so well that there wasn't any need for drama.
Yesterday everyone was so sad to leave. We had a cabaret and I sang "Matchmaker" with 2 other girls and "Forget About The Boy" with the whole group of girls and then the whole company sang "For Good". Everyone was bawling at the end of "For Good". Because every single person that went to that camp was change for the better, as corny as that sounds.
Well I'm gonna stop here. I should get my film back pretty soon, so I'll post pictures.
