Not all New Year's resolutions going as planned...

I had planned to be better at updating my LJ this year. As you have probably noticed... not going as planned. LoL. I feel like I have to blame it on something... So I've thought about it and here are my reasons:

Sorry-no-good excuse numero uno:
Since I lead such an exciting and thrilling life, there's nothing to post about.

Sorry-no-good excuse numero dos:
No time. By the time I get home it's 6pm... after dinner, shower... it's time for bed. And I sure as shit ain't getting up any earlier than I already do.

Hmm... those are pretty much my only reasons for lack of updatage. I feel accomplished already. LoL.

My favorite morning DJ's that I listen to were fired (or so the newspaper said this morning). They held this contest called something like... "Hold your wee for a Nintendo Wii". What you had to do was drink water starting from a little bottle (like 8 oz) and slowly increasing (to something like a liter) the amount you drank. And you couldn't go to the bathroom. The person who was able to hold their pee-pee the longest would win. Well, turns out someone died from participating in the contest. When you have too much water in your body it's called Water Intoxication. According to the newspaper this morning, 10 people were fired. Each contestant did sign a waiver, but what that waiver stated I'm not sure. Not even sure if the contestants were told exactly how dangerous drinking large amounts of water can be.

I'm not sure exactly how I feel about it. It's hard to know who the blame falls with. I definitely don't think the DJs should have been fired over it. If anything, it should have been THEIR boss. You'd think their boss would have had the final say in whether or not the contest was held. I haven't heard how well the contestants were informed of the dangers. I mean how many people actually know you can die from drinking too much water? If it was me, I would have found out the dangers... completely informed the contestants and had an ambulance or medical staff standing by.

Part of the blame should be with the contestant too. Don't get me wrong, I feel bad for her. She even had three children and a husband. But I think anyone knows when their body has had enough. I heard someone mention that during the contest her stomach expanded quite a bit. But that could just be rumor. Besides, it's... what's the word I'm looking for... stupid... silly... absurd... she died trying to win a Nintendo Wii. I'm interested in seeing what comes of the situation.

Anyway, I've started working out (again). (Go me!) This time I'm sticking to it! I purchased the Slim-in-6 exercise program. Some of you may have seen the informercials for it... Anyway, it comes with workout DVDS, resistance bands and tips for eating healthy. With this program you're supposed to workout for 6 days straight, with the 7th day being a rest day. The first two days... OMG... did I fucking hurt! My thighs and calves felt like they were bruised or something. I dreaded having to use the bathroom because it hurt too much having to sit. Not kidding!

It's good that I was hurting though. It means I was doing something good. Tonight my bro's gf and I are working out again. We'll be doing Start it Up! (25 mins) and then an ab workout (14 mins). I don't exactly like working out... especially when I'm actually working out... 'cause then I'm all sweaty and it's gross... but once I'm done... I feel soooooo much better. It was funny because on my second workout, Rachael (bro's gf) and I kept saying... sexy ass, sexy ass when our muscles started to ache from the moves. Like during squats... when we went down we'd go... Sexy... (up)... Ass. It was funny.

Anyway, guess that's it for now... off to do some catching up...
