I went to a funeral last week. Wednesday, I think. or perhaps Tuesday. Anyway, it was for the grandmother of a buddy of mine. I know it was a very somber occasion but I was in the back row trying not to laugh out loud. I know, TACKY-TACKY!!! I couldn't help it though. The man who was delivering the eulogy sounded exactly like the preacher in the movie, The Princess Bride. I wish I could render in the post what this man sounded like.
"Wuv, wuv is the weazon we are gaverred here today. We are heaw togevver to cewebrate the wife of this wady. She wivved a wong wife....."
Several people saw the tears running down my face. I hope no one knew that they were from the containment of my laughter. Is that wrong? Was I being insensitive? Could Miracle Max have prevented the need for a funeral?
