Long story short:
So there was
this long post by JRR.com's head (and now only?) staff member about putting aside grudges, turning over a new leaf, and soliciting input from customers. Given that they said they appreciate and value customer input and want to "fix and move forward", I brought up the easily-fixed matter of JRR.com's 1.5-year-long-and-counting refusal to post a brief article about Munetaka Higuchi's death on their webzine. In pretty short order I was banned; here's what I see now when I log in:
"You have been banned for the following reason:
No reason was specified.
Date the ban will be lifted: Never"
Banned forever for no particular reason! No explanation email either, naturally. Well, I've got to hand it to them: after my infractions for "rule violations" where no one was able to explain which rule I violated, being banned for no reason is refreshingly honest.
Full details later when I bother to organize my screencaps!
