Day 8 - A Fic You Read to Feel Good [The Themes]
Aaaand I'm back! With multiple reccs again XD Now this for this one, I didn't have any fics in mind so I had to dig back through my favourites and reread a few of them to refresh my memory of them; and considering I wasn't in the best of moods when I started yesterday, I think they served their purpose rather well!
Title: Mistletiptoe

Summary: Zack looked back and forth between them, sighed loudly, and unstrapped the fastenings of Cloud's overfull backpack to dig the plates out for himself. "You're both hopeless, you know. I swear I'm going to teach you two how to party if it kills someone..."
"If you smear your flaming chocolate-covered thermonuclear summoning device all over my reports, Lieutenant, I assure you there will be a more than sufficient quantity of blood on the floor to suit that definition."
Why?
This is absolutely adorable; it's set before Final Fantasy VII (supposedly during Crisis Core, though it was written before the game was released) when Sephiroth, Cloud and Zack were all still at Shinra. Zack is a total prankster and teases everyone mercilessly while Sephiroth and Cloud are awkward as Zack introduces the wonders of Office parties to Sephiroth. It's fluff filled and guaranteed to have you smiling throughout~
Title: Under Ultraviolet Light

Summary: Twilight Town Gang. Boys will be boys.
Why?
This one is set before KHII during that summer that Roxas spends in Twilight Town; it's slice of life and has the general goofiness you'd expect from them. There really isn't enough Twilight Town gang fic, if you ask me~
Title: Arthur and Merlin on the Cliff by the Sea

Summary: Merlin's tummy tingles, Arthur almost brings about the apocalypse, Uther hates humans and Hunith is totally awesome. (Or, five year old goldfishes probably shouldn't mess with the fabric of the universe to hang out with dark haired children and their mothers.)
Why?
If you've seen the film Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea, you'll know what sort of diabetes inducing cuteness to expect; everyone fits into this perfectly like Uther as Fujimoto, and the interaction between Hunith and Balinor is pretty hilarious as well~ It's well rounded in that all of the characters get attention rather than all of the focus being on Arthur and Merlin without retracting from their part of the story, which is really nice~ But seriously, this'll turn you into a pile of mush/goo!
Title: Leakier than a Rusty Faucet (and another fill)

Prompt: Gumshoe's clumsiness and stupidity is all an act.
In reality, he's as smart as Columbo.
Go, anons, make my dream come true.
Why?
I love both of the fills for this prompt! The first is a humorous take on the prompt which had me giggling at the end, and the second is more serious though it's by no means angsty; it's more like a look into Gumshoe's mind during Phoenix's first proper trial defending Maya in the first game.

Summary: Italy invites Germany and Prussia over for Sunday lunch. Romano disapproves, Prussia displays questionable taste in paintings, and Germany will not let go of the mandelbrot.
Why?
Absolutely hilarious; it has me in stitches (and leaves me craving gnocchi =3= ) every time I read it. The situation is as it says above in the summary, and everyone acts pretty much as you'd expect them to, with Romano's Catholicism sneaking in at various points and Prussia's complete lack of tact playing into poor Italy's Sunday Lunch brilliantly. It kind of makes you want to smush them all in a hug at the end XD
Title: The Princess and the Turtle

Summary: Written for the kink meme request...Uh, well, basically a fairy tale situation, with Spain as a turtle and Princess Lovino his One True Love, who needs a kiss from to be saved. The only problem? Lovino wants nothing to do with it.
Why?
Lovino is probably the least co-operative Princess there will ever be; he definitely doesn't disappoint in terms of characterisation, with the way he's so derisive of everything and how much of an annoyance this stupid turtle is. It's another one that'll have you giggling throughout, and definitely one that you'll read again when you need cheering up!

Prompt: Modern day Prussia and Germany working with one of their special forces teams. Emphasis on how professional they are and how Prussia just becomes a completely different person when he dons a uniform and has a weapon in his hands. *wink* And maybe Germany is just a little turned on?
Why?
Aha, well with badass Prussia and Germany what's not to like? As it says above this one's a modern day non-AU fic featuring a bank robbery hostage situation with the brothers swooping in to save the day. It's funny and serious at the same time, and is definitely a feel good fic!
(Sorry for any laziness in the commentary! I kind of want to get some other stuff done so that I'm free by the time Eurovision starts on iPlayer ^^' )
