Author's Notes: I have been thinking about this fanfic for awhile. Not sure if it will end up being Mark and Lexie or not, so for now I am only posting it here. It was supposed to be a ML story, but then I got so ticked at Shonda et al, that I sort of liked the possibility of Lexie with someone else. But then my love for Mark & Lexie kept getting in the way, so it bounces back and forth and I'm not sure where it will land. I think it will end up a McSexie fic, but it really depends on where the story leads me and how bad GA ticks me off the rest of the season. Since I don't want to upset anyone over at at the McSexie board, I thought I would start with it being posted here. Once I'm solid that it will end up being a McSexie fic, I will move it to Mere's board.
Prologue
The sound of her delighted laughter echoed around the crowded room. Her head was thrown back, her beautiful smile shined brightly. But it was the man holding her that held his attention. The entranced expression as he watched her; enchanted by the sparkle in her eyes and the smile that lit up her face. Mark knew that look. He had lived that look. And now he was dying from that look.
