Llama Woes

Back when I was first investigating sheep, I knew that in addition I would need something to protect them. There have always been coyotes here. So I started exploring the different breeds of dogs known for this kind of work. I like dogs, so this wasn't an issue. Wonderful reading. There are alpacas who are aloof, too. My friend had an alpaca ranch out here. And her dog was a yorkiepoo--so guess who protected the animals??? You know the answer. She had a llama.

I got the same reaction from certain dog rescue groups as you got from llama associations. Do they want the animals to have a good home, or not? I worked at a shelter once that demanded, down to the point of adopters signing a contract, that the new mums and dads never have their kitten declawed. Do they want the animals to have a good home, or not?

Is Four Wheeler still around, or is this a memorial?
