never let you go; a harry/ginny deathly hallows mix
So this has sat on my laptop for forever and an age, I think I started it after deathly hallows part uno came out and despite their treatment movie wise, I still had a lot of FEELS and such. He shouts her name when the death eaters attack the wedding and she's fighting, of course she is, he expects nothing else, and doesn't hear him and he leaves without saying good bye, of course he does, she was expecting it, but it still hurts and ohohoh. My harry/ginny feelings are so particular, I feel like their both cut from the same cloth and while this draws them together and means they understand each other perfectly it also results in frustrations which arise from their mutual pride and stubbornness. This is about how they deal with letting each other go and how they want to keep each other safe but equally know that there nothing either can do to stop them from fighting because that is who both of them are, they will fight to the end to protect those they love. I also believe that they wouldn't have gotten back together straight away after the war because they have both been through so much and will have changed and matured and I think they will just want to take a breather and deal with whats happened. Ginny has to be there for her family and go back to hogwarts, harry has to work out his place in the world without voldemort and work through his guilt/savoir issues. But I also don't think they were with anyone else at this time, they took a year for themselves to chill, but they both knew that they were it for each other. I don't even know what i'm talking about anymore, I just love these kids, and I know a lot of people take issue with them being canon for various reasons, but whatever they are perfection, and once they get past the war they are going to be so brilliantly happy. This is set deathly hallows and follows pretty chronologically, from summer at the burrow times to the forest again (promise) to post war and their attempts to get their lives back together to fix themselves and heal each other and live the life they both want, a life untroubled by violence and evil, one where they can grow together and play quidditch in the garden and laugh at ron and have lots of sex and babies. But before that everything is pretty dark so this mix is kinda sad.
