This is the best thing about this holiday season, just so you know. I am confident in saying that now, on December 8, with 23-ish days left in the year!! :D I have been rereading bits of it all day, and aside from Sonny kicking the bedsheets in a temper, and the shaving, and the hiccups and the yawning and the image of Tom eating artichoke hearts out of the jar (♥ ♥) and pulling his brow to make his eyes slant when he's overwhelmed - and, well, too many things to name, aside from all THESE things, right now, as of this particular moment, my favorite thing is:

Tom grunts in annoyance but moves aside to let him in.Because that says everything about their relationship. How Tom can be annoyed by Sonny or think he's wrong or whatever but he will always give way to him, make room for him, Sonny's got Tom in his pocket, like you said, and I love the idea of Tom being kind of powerless to ever resist. He's so competent in every other way, and it's not like a weakness that Sonny is his soft spot. omg another fic idea, can you imagine the ( ... )

yayy, I'm so glad you were happy with this!! <3 <3 And I've told you that like five times but I'm still glad.

I am so into these AU ideas!!!!!! I love the idea of some enemy using Tom to scare/rile Sonny rather than to reason with him. Sollozzo really misunderstood that relationship, and even while he's being held Tom is like "wow you really don't know Sonny" but then kind of shuts up cause they're all threatening and such. I love that scene and how nervous but still badass he is. And when he comes back the Teresa hug is great, and then of course the discussion salon where he keeps his feet on Sonny's chair the whole time, but I wanted the "TOM IS BACK!!" scene to go on for like ten minutes so everybody (mostly Sonny) could properly fawn over him. But I guess we have fanfic for that.

I can't wait for my DVDs to arrive!!! I got the super special Coppola restoration, so it's supposedly not as dark as the original films. I'll investigate the scene on the stairs that you mentioned in your last email. :D :D

Wow. Your characterization is stunning. It's been so many years since I read the books, but I keep meaning to get my hands on new copies since my old ones are an ocean away. Very nicely done!

(One of my other fandoms has a strong mob element, so this kind of story always hits close to home *sigh*)

Thank you so much! I've been obsessed with this movie forever, so it's kind of intimidating to work with these characters, and I'm really glad to hear the characterizations worked. :) :)

Which fandom?? I've always been into gangsters and bounty hunters and mercenaries and such.

Toy Soldiers - it's a 1991 action film starring a very young Sean Astin and Wil Wheaton in the leads. Joey Trotta, Wil's character, is the son of a New Jersey mob boss, Albert Trotta. Developing Albert as a character in my TS fic has been a blast over the past 5-6 years :) Joey hates his father with a passion, but Albert loves his son so much that you can't really hate him.

Damn, this is good.
You could really feel the claustrophobia they must have been feeling while hiding out, and the way you wrote the background of why they were hiding out was excellent. It was also an perfect portrayal of Sonny's frustration at the way everything was happening as well. I had other thoughts about their warm and unconventional brotherly bond and then...
...the handjob and the kissing and Tom's feelings pouring out almost wiped out everything else I read before that. I love a good story, but my mind is in the gutter after all.
The ending...it was so...just wow. It was good.

Thanks so much for reading! I love claustrophobia as a plot device, when the characters just can't escape each other. Glad the mind-in-gutter portion worked, too, because I can relate! ;)

I also love this one; that last line is a real kicker. Love the POV on this too. It's a trick I think, because the reader will tend to be more subtle than Sonny, and see exactly how Tom feels. Very nicely done.

Thanks again.

(And, sorry to interrupt this gushing for an important question--do you know if there's any more godfather slash? It needs to happen MOAR.)

Thank you so much! You can count on most anyone to be more subtle than Sonny, it's true. ;)

I don't know of any Godfather slash except for what is on rareslash and an old website I found with weird non-con fics that I took one glance at and navigated away from. I have written two Godfather AUs that I'm planning on posting tomorrow; they don't really have the gravity of these other two stories (considering their AU-ness), but maybe you'll like them. :)

...I think I found that website too :o( For yuletide there was Godfather slash, but it was noncon also, which I don't prefer.

I'd go for Godfather het or gen, too. There just doesn't seem to be much! I wonder if there was a comm for it more would come out of the woodwork, a build it and they will come sorta thing.

Hope you don't mind if I friend you so I can be sure to catch those AUs, and any other Godfather you might write. And I approve of your HP pairings, so mayhap I will dip into those too :o)

Thank you so much! I'm so glad you enjoyed this -- I love to know that people are interested in these tiny pairings like I am. I do have at least one other Sonny/Tom story that I want to write and I might have to watch my Godfather DVDs here soon and actually attempt it before the end of the year. :)
