Summary: Finn bailed out on the plans he had with Puck, causing Puck to toss the football with Tyler who is just passing through town.

Puck sat on the bleachers, a couple of six packs in a brown bag on one side of his feet and his pigskin on the other as he glared at the text message Finn had just sent him. He was pissed, pissed that Finn had blown off their plans of hanging out at the field tossing a football and drinking beer so he could take Quinn on a date. Puck was also pissed because Finn wasn’t even with Quinn this month he was with Rachel. He reread the text hoping that he might had read it wrong but he hadn’t, and in anger and frustration Puck picked up the football and threw it into the middle of the field before reaching into the bag and grabbing a beer.

“It works better if you have someone to catch it,” someone shouted from the field causing Puck to glare at the guy wearing a leather jacket and tossing his football in the air and catching it.

Puck glared at the guy as he chugged down his beer and tossed the empty can off to the side, “Who the fuck are you?”

The guy smirked as he tossed the ball towards Puck, and Puck instinctively caught it impressed with the guy’s aim. If Finn had half the aim this kid did the whole team would be better off. He tossed back to him, and the guy caught it easily enough before motioning for Puck to join him on the field. Puck grabbed the bag of beer and made his way down the blenchers figuring what the hell he might as well toss the ball around with this guy since Finn is a fucking douchebag for ditching their plans to cheat of Rachel.

When he made it on the field Puck sat the bag down and waited as the guy tossed the ball back to him. “Tyler Lockwood,” he shouted as Puck threw the ball back to him.

“Puck,” Puck offered and they passed the ball back and forth a few more times in silence before Puck offered Tyler one of his beers and they ended up sitting in the middle of the field with the brown bag between them.

“What’s there to do in this town?” Tyler inquired and Puck smirked as he took a swig of is beer.

“A shit load of nothing,” Puck responded, “What are you doing here?”

Tyler shrugged, “Just passing through.”

Puck didn’t bother to question him, but he did notice that a little while later when Tyler’s phone rang he just sat there staring at the name that flashed across the screen until it went to voicemail, causing Tyler to chug the rest of the beer he had been holding and tossing the can.

“It’s really hard not to answer that,” Tyler remarked as he grabbed another beer and popped the can open, “I just wish she would realize that I’m not going back home and that she’s better off with him.”

“Chick you were dating?” Puck asked because hell he was curious and it’s not like he didn’t know about girls being better off without you, he just wishes the guy she was with wasn’t a douchebag.

Tyler looked at him for a moment as if he hadn’t realized he had spoken aloud and then shook his head, “Nope, the shitty part is she helped me out doing a really hard time and I fell in love with her. But when she needed me I just stood by and didn’t do anything. Her boyfriend, he’s my best friend, or was my best friend so I split town. It was like rubbing salt in the wound.”

“Your friend,” Puck asked as he tossed his empty beer can and grabbed a new one, “He’s at least good to her right? He’s not cheating on her or fucking with her head or telling her how not perfect she is when she is perfect?”

Tyler arched an eyebrow at Puck before sighing, “That’s just it, Matt is perfect for her. I’m the fuck up but at least Matt treats her right. Besides if I found out he didn’t I’d bite his fucking arm off or something.”

Puck ignored the weird look that came over Tyler’s face as he chuckled at what he said, causing Puck to scoot a little further away from Tyler for some reason. “At least you’re lucky, she’s with my best friend and he ditched me tonight to go on a date with someone who isn’t her. The shitty thing is I’ll be there every time she calls and keep sticking up for her at school but when everything’s settled down she’ll go right back to the douchebag.”

“Did you date her?” Tyler inquired and Puck nodded his head then laughed.

“For one week, I’ve been with half this town and she got me to date her without any sex and she won’t fucking leave my head,” Puck stated as he stared off at the blenchers where Rachel had broken up with him.

They changed the subject then, talking about sports and drinking the rest of the beer in between tossing the football back and forth before Puck’s phone rang and he answered it immediately while Tyler stood by and tried not to listen. When Puck hung up the phone he turned towards Tyler and held out his hand.

“I have to go she just saw on Facebook that he was out on a date tonight,” Puck explained as he shook Tyler’s hand, “It was nice meeting you.”

“Yeah, you to,” Tyler replied before grabbing Puck’s phone and calling his phone from Puck’s “If I’m back in this area anytime I’ll give you a call. Next time I’ll buy.”

Puck nodded in agreement before pulling out his truck keys and heading to the parking lot only to realize he had left the ball on the field and turned around to go get it.

“Damon don’t hang up,” Tyler was saying into his phone and Puck tried to pretend he didn’t hear him as he picked up the ball, “Is she okay?”

Puck took off at a jog, the ball tucked under one hand as he headed back towards the parking lot, debating on rather he had enough time to go beat the shit out of Finn before he went to Rachel’s.
