I don't think I'll ever forget the look on all their faces. It didn't take a rocket scientist to see I was the youngest in the room both in years and in experience. Yet I had been chosen to speak on behalf of all of them. They looked nothing less than proud parents, yet a few years ago I would have been nothing more than some kid in the room.
Their emotions were contagious. I could feel how happy they were in supporting me.
From that moment on, I wanted nothing more than to go up on stage and do my best, and to have them say they were proud to support me, no matter what the outcome.
It's nice knowing sometimes the littlest things will give you the biggest support.
