Just my luck..
Today I decided that it would be cool to go to a used bookstore for a change. We have passed a few here and there on our occational car rides around town. Although we didn't know exactly where the store was, we still went looking, for my sake.: )
After what seems like forever driving in circles, because gramps wouldn't listen to where i knew it would be, he finally stopped to ask directions. Amazing how i was right..siighs..i knew tht I saw one on the same street as the movie place...but noooo...
So we finally pull up to the place and i was all happy and BOOM! IT'S CLOSED! That closed sign seemed so huge! why is any place closed on a monday? really? Just my luck..
The other day I baked a double batck of peanut butter cookies. yummo. Before I made the cookies though, I decided to make banana nut bread with the last two naners that i knew wouldnt get eaten..just got too ripe..lol..we like grenn naners here..wel not GREEN green, but slightly green on the tops..lol..(sneezed) Back to the cookies. All was going well with the mixing process until OOPS! OH NOOOOO!!! I was scraping the sides of the mix into the center with one of those rubber spatula things and I just hade it the slightest bit too close to the beaters and then i hear this"GRROOOUUWWWRRRRRRRRR" sound. After i turned the mixer of i put my face in my hands and did my best to keep from crying. There were tears in my eyes and dough on my face when i walked into the living room to tell my grams what I did to the mixer that my grams got her years ago. My grams LOVES this thing...So I tell her and she just said,"Oh, Holly, don't tell me that." then i turned away and went to the bathroom to collect myself.
After what seems like forever searching for the owners manual, we call up the Sunbeam people and to my relief, they still sell the beaters that fit her mixer. $20.00 we have a new set of beaters being mailed to us...I feel horrible that I was the one that broke the thing. I mean EVERYONE has used that monster and nothing has happened to them! I have used it so many times, and boom! When I least expect anything I break it! lol..man! Just my luck..
my garden, my oh so beatuiful garden that I have worked so so hard in has been wounded by the constant rain that has been pounding in literally to the ground. My flowers are all broken up, petals all over the bed..Grams said there's no saving them so I had to go and cut the flowers off to keep the mess to a minimum..I felt like part of the Aadams family cutting off hte flowers..lol..but like i said before, just my luck..lol
So even though I know that I have horrible luck in general, I have to say that it does make my life alot more interesting for me...lol
I was looking at my picture albums today. I found the one that held the trip to Miami that my friends and I went on. Why go to school? we had better things to do and it was senior year anyways so it was all good. The trip was photographed my one of our photographer friends with one of those high en cameras, so the pictures were really good quality. But anyhow. As I was going through them I was like DAAANNNG!!! I was so tiny. well tiny compaerd to now. My friends back then told me that I had a cutle little shape n all, but I was like, "yea..ok." and shrugged it off. Now I don't think that i was amazing or anything, but I refuse to sit here and look at those pics and be like I wish that i could be that way again..lol.. Im soo close to it and im super excited!! yay for exercise!!!
Tonight for dinner grams made roast. Now roast has always been my favorite meal that she makes, so all day I was thinking about it and getting excited. But when I finally put a piece in my mouth, my first reaction was to spit it back out! It was soooo not the way she usually makes it. I understand that there aren't ever two meals that are exactly alike, but she usually comes very close! BUT THIS roast!! I was sooooo sad! All day thinking about the taste and salivating at the thoughts were so in vain! WHY?? lol. I asked my grams why she did it different? lol. Shes like, "I didnt.' Im like, "umm this is so not the same way that you usually make it." She was like, "you dont like it?" And I was like, "umm, its not that I dont like it, I just like the other way better." She didnt believe me, I didnt believe me when I said that I liked it. My voice was flat and my eyes dropped when I said that I did. Something that I wish that I didnt do. She knew that I was lying and I know that I hurt her, DAMN me!! sheesh! just my stupidity! But to try and convince her, I ate a little more and was talking about how good it was..; ( my tummy hurts now. ha!
