Friends Only

Sep 10, 2005 16:34

I have decided to make this journal friends only. If you friend me and want to be added, please comment and let me know how you found my journal. As soon as I verify that I have some idea who you are and that you're not a psycho stalker, I will friend you back. Thanks!

Yay! I friended you back. And hey, if you want to find icons, as you mentioned, these are the two VM icon communities that I watch: good_vmicons and veronica_icons. Some people also post banners/headers there, I think. There's lots of good stuff there.

I know where the icons are... just don't know how to get them... exactly. I'm just being lazy about reading up on it.

Boy, that "learn Spanish" comment makes so much more sense when I read your actual LJ.

I'm with you, though. My favorite radio stations in my hometown frequently go Spanish.

The icons are really actually pretty easy to manage once you figure it out. Although if you have a free account you don't get very many. That's why I eventually got a paid account (plus extra add-on for more icons), because I became obsessed with icons. Basically, you just save them onto your computer (using right click, save picture as if you're on a PC, and control-download image to disk on a Mac), then upload it in your manage icons section. Give it a keyword, credit the maker in the comments, and you're good to go.

Yeah, I just deleted that comment because it would make no sense to people just coming to my journal. And I really don't get the point of leaving an anonymous comment, anyway.

Oh good. It's easy then. I was just worried I'd be ripping someone off if I saved one.

Nope, your fine. As long as it's one that they are sharing (like in an icon post). Usually they'll want you to comment with which ones you're taking, and then of course credit them in the comments for that icon when you upload it. You can even use the lj code so it shows up as a link (< lj user="username" > --except without the spaces around the brackets).
