People are going a little nutty, here. The morning news noted that 67 percent of Jacksonville residents are Gator fans (where that statistic comes from, I don't know), and the news anchor promptly quipped, "Which means there will be lots of revelry in the streets this evening!" Immediately I thought of siyeh and begrid cheering on the Bucks and I felt guilty--not because I was getting carried away with the sentiments spoken on the AM news, but because I heard it being spoken. Blasphemy.

I woke up at 7:10, took a shower, put on some under-eye concealer and mascara, found some clothes that fit (I seem to be losing weight for some reason unbeknownst to me), drove to campus, found a parking spot, and promptly made my way to my first classroom. While walking in the morning sunshine I happened to spy a young man decked out in full Gator gear: blue, cotton shorts, Gator t-shirt, and, this is the best part, a pair of orange and blue plastic gardening clogs--you know, the plastic, close-toed shoes they used to sell at Wild Oats. This amused me to no end and I tried to walk past him without laughing. I managed not to make sound, but I was shrugging my shoulders in rapid succession and doing that silent, inward laugh-thing I'm so good at. There's just something hilarious about a man wearing a unisex, plastic shoe in orange and blue.

Non sequitor: There's a cardinal sitting on top of the fence outside my office window. It's staring at me. It's a bit intense.
