suffocation. a need to escape. escape from the world we have created.
don't people see what they are doing? what they have become. they are not who they are. we are amazing beings, intelligent life forms, with an amazing complex brain, capable of incredible thought, creativity and expression. we stand tall for all that we have accomplished, for the big buildings we build, for the distant places we have reached, for the amazing skills we demonstrate, yet the biggest unanswered question is what is life? why are we here on earth?
we are constantly searching and striving, but have we really put any real thought into it? we have become undead. the living dead. no-one lives, they carry on day to day following societies norms without question, doing what others tell them to do because it seems like a good idea, finding temporary contentment and satisfaction in overvalued material objects because otherwise we would be bored, undertaking meaningless pass times that others convince us we would find entertaining. no one any longer searches for their happiness and joy, they wait for it to be handed to them. surrounded by television screens, radios, advertisement, junk mail, we dont have to go far to find the next thing to occupy our lives. we just live out our routine and wait for the next big thing to hit us, and we go out and buy/watch/do it. but all that these tv shows, advertisements, and helpful information is doing is telling people what they want, without any real thought of the individuals needs. buy this you will enjoy it. purchase this you cant live without it. try this it will make your life easier. and we take it all in. we are truly dead with infinitely little thoughts of our own. so who's fault is it? ourselves? the person standing next you? the person in the big office you cant see? society?
the answer, quite easy to guess, all of the above.
