Has anyone seen
There Will Be Blood? Is anyone planning on seeing it in the theatre? I find myself hankering for some cinematic experiences here. I can't even remember the last time I went to see a film, but it was some time last year. It might've even been Pirates 3, ehh. It doesn't have to be TWBB, but it looks promising.
On the other end of the spectrum in the films on offer is
10,000 B.C. and it looks anything but promising. They should've just called it a Conan the Cimmerian movie and be done with this bullshit "real history" angle. I might've actually bothered to see it if that had been the case. Oh, and? Those dreads are terrible! /shock and outrage!
Some stuff has happened since my last entry (I think that was some time last year, too), but I never write about that crap anyway... Lets just say that the highlights have been meeting with friends and the third season box set of The Wire. I took a trip to Helsinki, which was all kinds of awesome and I'm not just talking about Guitar Hero. My only gripe is that I'm now the only one without GH of their own, so I can't practise for these shredding sessions of utter nerdiness. I suck with that tiny plastic guitar!
A more important matter: I know there are people who are well-versed in literature in general on my friends list, but can anyone recommend a good book for a girl of twelve who likes to read? Here's the rub, it can't be anything remotely depressing or scary, so I'm more or less at a loss. Basically I'm looking for anything of quality. Perhaps something fairytalish? For a second I thought of The Neverending Story, but the death of Bastian's mother ruled that one right out. Any help at all would be much appreciated.
