13. Writing sample - Third Person Prose:
It was probably stupid. No - actually, it was incredibly stupid. If he was caught, he'd likely never live it down.

The downside of sharing living space with several young people, most likely, was that they always talked amongst themselves about everything and nothing. To most, what he was doing would be completely innocuous. There was nothing at all odd about it. Some people would likely dismiss it as something eccentric, but that was all. However, to those residing in a certain house, learning a very certain set of skills, it was painfully obvious that he was doing something painfully ridiculous. In his defense, they all were having a bit of downtime, because, even in the most intense training regimen, there was a need to stop and breathe.

So what was the “illustrious” leader of this little band of misfits doing on his time off?

He was currently engaged in a fierce battle of wits and cunning.

With a squirrel.

Mostly, it was a dare. He normally wouldn't do something so utterly useless - especially with all there was on the line. However, at the moment, there was little else to be done, and the creature was just sitting right outside the window. What harm would it do to briefly delve into its tiny mind and just... see what there was to be seen? The answer was obvious, of course - absolutely nothing of note - but, he had to admit, he was slightly curious.

And he was right. No sooner had he touched the creature's brain than he was quite sure all it could think about was its next meal. A completely worthless waste of five minutes. Although, if he were being honest, he had, at the very least, gained the experience of reading an animal's mind.

Then he turned around.

He met Raven's eyes for a fraction of a second before abruptly turning back around, and pretending nothing at all had happened.

14. Writing sample - First Person:
Yes. Well then.

As utterly charming as this place is -- and, honestly, it is an attractive a location. It's not at all where I'd intended myself to be, walking out of the door a moment ago.

And as for your note? I can't say I'm terribly impressed with such a blatant attempt at coercion. While I must admit your ability to abduct a person without their knowledge is rather impressive, by no means does that mean you've swayed my opinion or earned my cooperation. I have never heard of you, nor your keep. You had best try harder than that to be intimidating, I'm afraid.

Now, will you be cooperative and respond? Or shall I see myself out?

Judging from your obstinate lack of response, I'm inclined to believe it will be the latter.

15. Tattoo:
At the base of his spine. Like a bulls-eye.

16. Room Preference:
Near Raven, if possible.
