Re: Claudia Donovan 2/3agentknockknockSeptember 2 2011, 21:07:25 UTC
Life continued as normal for Claudia and the warehouse agents, but this ended when H.G Wells began helping them recover artifacts. Claudia got promoted from tech geek and inventory taker into a junior agent. Her first assignment went decently, besides her nearly dying, which is pretty much an initiation for warehouse agents. She only lived through it with H.G Wells’s help.
After this, H.G. Wells became a warehouse agent and they all went on happy assignments together. At least they did, until H.G. Wells went all evil and stole an artifact that could destroy the world and plunge it into a new ice age. They found out that H.G. Wells only rejoined to get access to the artifact. Thankfully, they managed to stop her just in time. Sadly, one agent (Myka) was so shaken by the fact she was manipulated that she quit.
A new agent (Jinx) was hired to replace Myka. However, Myka ultimately decided to come back with a little prodding from her old partner. But Jinx already knew about the warehouse, so they couldn’t exactly fire him. Instead, they promoted Claudia to a full agent and paired her and Jinx up.
6. Personality: Claudia is a really sarcastic chatter box who jokes around a lot. She is kind of a geek, and half of what she says is a pop culture reference. She is still pretty immature. When she is mad at someone she cares about she tends to avoid them and give them the silent treatment. She tries to talk big and act confident but she is still very unsure of herself and her new status as an agent.
She never spent much time with people her own age, and she has almost nothing in common with them. She has even less in common with them now that she works for a top secret government agency snagging, bagging, and tagging dangerous artifacts before they destroy the world. She is a little unsure of how to relate to people her own age, especially guys (who she has no idea how to act around). Her only relationship was very short and only ended when he got taken away by the witness protection agency.
The family she has built is a huge part of her life. Her parents died when she was young and then her brother disappeared, so she’ll do anything to build and keep her family. She gets pretty moody if one of them leaves her. She tends to adopt people into her family quickly. One of her biggest fears is that she is actually is crazy and her life is just a hallucination, which stems from her time in the psychiatric institution. Although she has recently made some headway on this, it is still something that affects her.

8. Appearance: She is average height, has short red hair with a random streak of dyed hair, which is currently green. She will arrive at the Keep wearing jeans, a dark green tank top, and a black coat with a few novelty pins on it. Her PB is Allison Scagliotti.
9. Abilities: Claudia is amazing with technology. She can hack pretty much anything, and can create high tech gadgets. She can play the guitar. Essentially she’s kind of useless at the Keep.
10. Languages: English
11. Items: Her Farnsworth (the warehouse’s communicators), her gloves and bag for artifact collecting.

13. Writing sample - Third Person Prose: Claudia slowly woke up. Her mind was groggy, and body aching from the familiar feeling of sleeping on an unfamiliar mattress. She opened her eyes and focused on her strange surroundings. Huh. Last time she looked, Leena’s house didn’t have creepy stone walls. She shot up quickly and leapt off the bed, staring at her surroundings in shock.
There had to be an explanation for this. She just had to stop panicking and think. This was just some weird side effect of drinking from Beatrix Potter’s tea cup. She should have known it was a bad idea to drink it. Artie would yell at her when he found out it was still messing with her head. They’d had enough trouble with artifacts messing with their heads, and they didn’t usually end well. For anyone. But did she listen, noooo, why would she bother to think about the brain eating effects of an artifact?
Crap.
So, if this was an artifact related dream thing then she should just lie down, close her eyes, and wake up. That made sense kind of. She quickly laid back down, and shut her eyes tight. After a few seconds she shot back up, eyes wide open. Nothing had changed.
“Pickles,” she muttered.
Okay, new plan. Look for clues. Where was she and what happened? Okay, think back. What had she been doing right before she got here? She’d been digging through the Farnsworth section. But she was wearing her gloves. And she’d touched everything in there before and there was no getting sucked into castles. This wasn’t helping either. Okay, new, new plan.
Claudia took a quick survey of the room. At least that part was easy. On the table were a book and a quill. She dug into her pockets and pulled out her gloves and bag. She quickly put on her gloves and picked up the quill. She dropped the quill into her bag. Nothing happened. She let out a frustrated grown. Dumping the quill out, she then tried the book. Nothing either. Seemed like they were safe. She pulled the book out of her bag, and opened it.

Looks like I’m not in Kansas anymore, Toto. Oh, and it looks like there’s no more Kansas either.
Great. And what do you mean ontological cataclysm?
You can’t just unmake reality. This isn’t a comic. What, did you get Jerry Siegel’s drawing board? Where are we, really, and where is everybody else? Jinx? Pete, Myka? Artie?
This is going to sound weird, but did anyone get anything new right before they got whisked away to the Land of Oz? It’s probably important. Even something that looked useless and unrelated to random teleportation?
