6. Personality: Chloe is relatively quiet and shy-to a point. She has a speech impediment-a stutter-that comes out whenever she is stressed, nervous, or usually lying. To close friends, her stutter is a dead give away to whatever emotion Chloe is trying desperately not to convey. She is kind, often being described as ‘too nice,’ and is an exceedingly loyal friend. She hates feeling inferior to others, and can’t stand others trying to help her talk through her stutter if it happens to emerge. She loves movies and directing and screen writing, and prides herself on not being the scared and dumb little heroine of some story who always acts in some dumb or irrational manner. She is afraid of the dark, and is exceptionally jumpy. She sees ghosts, and can accidentally return spirits to their decaying bodies, therefore she has every right to be jumpy. She is rational and dependable, and knows when to listen to someone’s advice. She is also exceedingly stubborn in some respects, and refuses to let others see her moments of weakness if she can help it, always putting on a brave face. Sometimes what she perceives as strength, however, leads her to her own bouts of weakness.
7. Previous Game Developments: None.
8. Appearance: Chloe is a small little thing, only five feet tall, with wispy blond hair with a bit of red in it. She just turned sixteen, but is often mistaken for being quite a few years younger due to her petite frame. She has blue eyes and is often described as cute or pretty, but is not necessarily a head-turner. (For the purposes of this rp Chloe will be played by Elisabeth Harnois.)
9. Abilities: Ability to raise the dead, communicate with ghosts/spirits, and summon the specific spirit of a person if she is at the grave site, or has a personal effect of theirs. (Though sometimes spirits and demons find her.) These abilities are much stronger than they should be for other necromancers in her canon, but for the purposes of this rp her ability to see and communicate with the dead will fade in and out, and her ability to raise the dead up to the moderators-for animals and humans.
10. Languages: Fluent in English, and knows a little Spanish.
11. Items: She has her amulet, that protects her from possession and too much unwanted attention from ghosts, the clothes on her back, cash in her shoe and in her pockets, and a (now dulled) switchblade she has taken to carrying.
12. Weapons: A switch blade that is now exceedingly dull.
13. Writing sample - Third Person Prose: Chloe leaned over the dead homeless man, holding her breath against the scent of rot and decay. It was times like this she was glad she didn’t have Derek’s super-human sense of smell. She didn’t want to know what death smelled like to him.
Just back away slowly, think of anything but spirits trapped back in their bodies, and we’ll be good, Chloe thought to herself, sneaking a peak behind her, half expecting Derek to jump out at her and give her hell for once again tracking down a dead guy with her senses.
Still. Something about this one seemed…different. Off slightly. In learning more about herself and her abilities, she needed to explore and figure things out on her own. It had already been proven someone else wouldn’t be happy teaching a genetically modified necromancer the ropes of the trade.
A dry chuckle sounded by her ear, and Chloe whipped around only to see a shimmer of something dart away in the corner of her eye. The chuckle came again, louder this time, and Chloe chanced a single glance at the dead body only a few feet away from her before trying to concentrate on the ghost in the room-just barely making out his outline and noting their clothing was indeed the same.
The spirit of the homeless man darted out of her line of sight, and suddenly a crate launched itself off its stacked pile and headed straight for her. With a shriek, Chloe threw herself out of harm’s way, scraping her palms and knees as she overbalanced and collided with the ground. Before another crate could find her Chloe was back up on her feet.
“Wh-wh-” Clearing her throat, Chloe attempted to calm her rapid heartbeat, and tried again, anger lacing her tone. “Who are you, and what do you want?” She glared in the ghost’s general direction, mentally wondering what would be worse: playing with a telekinetic half demon spirit on her own, or getting backup only to be chewed out for having searched for the dead guy in the first place. She knew the answer already, resolutely steeling herself for the argument she knew would come. Better to have backup than do something stupid.
The thought of finally being able to take on one spook by herself was overwhelmingly tempting, however.
14. Writing sample - First Person: Fear knotted from within as I took in my surroundings-unfamiliar surroundings. I sat up, clutching the covers with trembling fingers as I scanned the rest of the tiny and bereft room.
“Oh no. No no no.” I scrambled to my feet as icy fear trekked down my spine. I shivered. How could they have found us? How could I have gotten captured? More importantly, where were the others?
“A-Aunt Lauren?” I hated the catch that sounded in my throat. “D-Derek?” Panic seized me. Was he nearby? Would he hear me? Then realization dawned.
Werewolf. Dangerous. Expendable.
I sprang to my feet, hands opening and closing into fists as I contemplated what I should do. Was this the St. Cloud’s doing? Had the Cabal finally managed to catch up with us?
I had to find Derek. That trickling, eerie feeling traversed my spine, and I shuddered. I reached for the handle on the door, knowing, and expecting it to be locked.
It wasn’t.
“…What kind of sorcerer kidnapper forgets to cast a lock spell?” Something didn’t quite add up. I hesitated on the threshold, then rolled my eyes at my paranoia. What would be better: sneaking out in search for answers, or waiting around in my prison cell long enough for some sorcerer or half-demon to realize his mistake about locking the door?
I eased out into the hall. As I set out I made note of any hiding places and niches I might be able to squeeze into in case I was spotted. I wasn’t able to squash the niggling doubts and worries ringing in my head. What worried me most was that I was more afraid of Derek doing something selflessly reckless than I was about anyone harming him.
If he was out and about pulling needless risks, he was going to get an earful.
15. Tattoo: On her stomach, low below her navel.
16. Room Preference: Near enough to Derek that she can shuffle about in the hall and he’ll hear her. XD Please~
