Alix Olson: America's On Sale Alix Olson: Subtle Sister Saul Williams: List of Demands It's roughly a month since my last post. City of Angels came and went. It was a wholly humbling experience, I must say. The guest director we had was not exactly ideal, to say the least, but the show went on. I even went to see it. There were a lot of trials - some of which had me thinking that I might not be cut out for my field. Not that I'm not interested, but that I didn't possess the proper attitude and know-how still. I think part of the problem is that I'm not a quick enough thinker/reactor. I'm graduating, so that's something. People act like having a degree makes you a shoe-in for high paying jobs, but that's simply not the case when you live in buffalo. The job market here is mostly retail. We'll see how things turn out though. I applied for a job with a non-for-profit company and the only thing that may hold me back is a torn ACL/Meniscus.
Joe and I are working on moving very soon. Our current landlord is only consistent when it comes to his money and we've been asking him to make some repairs since May that he has not made. We also don't feel safe in our current situation anymore due to our immediate neighbors. We share a wall with them and they do a lot of fighting, hitting, and throwing. We've had to call 911 several times at this point and the landlord is only now starting to do something about it after several months. The landlord also wants to hold us to our lease when we go so that he keeps his money and is also trying to sell the house. Needless to say, there are too many repairs needed (the entire piping system needs to be redone, the heating system works but circulates poorly and the roof is having some minor-looking problems) and he doesn't want to pay the money or take the time to make them, so he's trying to sell the place.
Other than that, Yule is coming up as well as Christ's mass. We're making plans to visit eachother's families. I'd like to see my nieces open their gifts. Saul Williams and Trent Reznor have made an album together, Puscifer's "V is for Vagina" is out and a bit disappointing, but I still enjoy it, and my car has gone to a charity. The poor girl wouldn't start anymore. That's all that's really happening for now.
Happy everyone.
