And so it is...

The last month of the semester is coming up. There is a lot going on, including the UB Lavender Ceremony and the Renaissance Fair, which are both on the same day that Al Gore comes to UB (April 27th). Lots for one day, I know...

I've had a good time helping to put together the Ren Fest. It's been tedious, what with it being the first one, but I'm really  liking the work involved in putting the tents, small stage, and lights/sound together. I even don't really mind the paperwork involved with all the businesses for permits, insurance, etc. - at least not in hindsight. It might be feasible to look into doing this type of thing as a job for a while. It's times like these when I wish our department had had a training program for productions much sooner. I can't get involved in one now. It's too late. Still... there are other jobs around that involve learning it.

Women's Center has a lot coming up too, so all of that goes hand-in-hand with the last month of stuff to do. Lots of little events, as well as helping out with Ren Fair. UB Lavender should also be promising. I'd like to speak at the event, but am unsure of what to say. I won't be walking for the CFA Graduation, so I'd really like the Lavender Ceremony to be successful and professional. I'd really like my family to be there too, supporting me and the LGBTQ community. My mom has come a long way in the grand scope of acceptance in general, so we'll see I guess. It would be nice if there were a way to tell them what it would mean to me to have their support though.

Matt the Schwartz has asked me to assist him in the photography of our mutual friends' wedding this summer. I'm very excited about this prospect. It means I have a little bit of work this summer. Mostly he wants me along to help with lighting, but I think I'll use the opportunity to do some research and maybe acquire some new toys ... Thank you Matt.
