Delicious may not be shutting down afterall....
Hey all, my friend rusting_roses sent me this article which suggests that yahoo may be either selling delicious or turning it into an open source project. That's really all I have to add to the discussion for now. I'm typing this on my phone in the car on the way back from a family ski trip so it's taking me a long time to write anything too comprehensive right now. That'll have to wait until I get home.
Overall, I did join the intial panic. I have backed up my bookmarks up using Diigo and Pinboard. If delicious is sold, that's cool that we still have it, but I kind of really like the idea of a fandom operated bookmarking site, kind of like what dreamwidth is to its livejournal counterpart. I hope discussion on that topic continues regardless of what happens from here on out.
