Sadly, I don't think there is a way to scan them without causing at least some damage to book (or if there is, I've yet to figure it out myself. >_<) It's more an art of minimising the damage so that it's as unobtrusive as possible

No problem. :) It might be set to friends only or something. I'm not sure what LJ's default is. It doesn't help the PM option isn't under the privacy settings where you'd expect it to be

The size isn't really that important, to be honest. Mine always have a huge variation from scan to scan, due to different lengths and the amount of shading and the like, but most are between 8 ~ 13 MB. I've ended up with some fifty page books over 20MB before though! As long as it can fit in an email attachment, it should be fine. ^^
Speaking of which, email is probably the easiest way to send it over. The address for all comm-related stuff is blackskyscans@gmail.com :) You're also welcome to upload it to your own sharing host and simply send over the link for that. Whichever you prefer!
