So, after POTC:3 and everything that happened in it concerning beautiful Beckett, i decided to research some of Tom's other films to see what they were like. So far i've got 'Gosford Park', 'Lawless Heart', 'Pride and Prejudice' and 'Martha, meet Frank, Daniel and Laurence'. Now, i know that it sounds completely foolish to spend money on buying dvds when there is a big possibility i may hate them but honestly, i can say that i have no regrets about it whatsoever. If anyone else is thinking about seeing a film that Tom has been in i HIGHLY recommend 'Martha, meet Frank, Daniel and Laurence'. He plays the loveable rich music lawyer, Daniel and boy is he adorable! My new icon shows him as Daniel, listening to his friend Frank talk about the girl he's met on a plane back to London, called Martha. It's a great love story, although i think Daniel should have got a far bigger part! But there is a bit where the poor dear is tossing and turning in his bed with his cute little boxers on! Wow, it's a good film! :D
The others are good too, in 'Lawless Heart' he stars alongside Bill Nighy once again, who plays Davy Jones in the Pirates of the Caribbean films. The story kind of splits into three parts, focusing on three different characters and how they cope with their lives. Tom plays Nick, who is devestated after his boyfriend Stuart passes away and his story is based on how he manages to cope with what happens afterwards. It's a really good story and Tom is so good in it, as are Bill Nighy and Douglas Henshall.
Pride and Prejudice is a well known tale, the BBC version being a firm favourite of many across the country, including my big sister Debs. But she doesn't watch it for Mr Darcy coming out of the lake, as many do, she watches it simply because it's a good story and it's wonderfully acted. I bought the new version from ebay, it was a little cheaper there than most places and is still brand new! Tom plays Mr Collins in it who, my big sister told me from her watching the previous version, is incredibly creepy! Tom plays it well, and for some reason i feel completely sorry for the poor guy!
Gosford Park is so full of big name stars that Tom doesn't get a mention on the front cover but it's completely worth the watch! Ryan Phillippe's accent cracks me up, not sure if it's supposed to be Scottish or Irish but it's hilarious! So far, i've watched about half way through it and Tom's only been in it a little, but when he's dressed up in his hunting gear it's so cute!
Anyway, if it were to recommend any of these films to budding Tom fans, i would definitely say buy 'Martha, meet Frank, Daniel and Laurence', it's a great film and Tom is incredibly funny and sexy in it!
