I know what I'm gonna say is probably the weirdest thing ever, but I can't help thinking that Naomi's a big gaymo and Emily's the one who's bi and can't really express it properly at all 'cos she's IN LOVE with Naomi and no one else, ever. But will totally be okay with being fluid in her sexuality, and in that respect she's just a tiny bit clueless that, once you grow up (and possibly move on from Naomi) that you CAN move back and forth between men and women when the opportunities present themselves.

Naomi on the other hand, can't seem to move past just knowing that she thoroughly ENJOYS having sex with Emily, can't even come to terms that she's attracted to her, and it might not have anything to do with how much of a good person Emily makes her feel, but that those are butterflies in her stomach and that you can be sexually attracted to a mousy girl with aggressive tendencies. I mean, she gave a handjob to some random bloke beforehand and didn't even finish the deed with Cook, and I know we're led to believe that she did those things half-heartedly because she was really ~smitten with Ems, but really, I mean, Emily went through two times more physical activities with dudes towards the end of their actual burgeoning relationship without a problem, not even a frown on her face, and she's DEFINITELY taken with Naomi by that point.

That's my really long two cents. I've no idea if you can get any of that, but hey discussions! I <3 them.

I kind of agree with this. Maybe not the fact that Emily's bi, so much that Naomi has actually thought it through, she's (presumably) spent time worrying about what people think, and if she's ready, etc. Where as Emily has gone in all guns blazing, declaring undying love for one person, and we've got little evidence that she's gay for anyone else, (except maybe the posters on her wall,) especially with her renouncing all girls except Naomi at the love ball, which was meant to come across as romantic, but kind of struck me as back-tracking. like the writers tacked that on in case Naomily goes south and they have to make Emily work believably with a guy.

Man I suck at discussions because I just agree with everything. Damn my impressionable mind.

Does that mean Emily's in love with Fergie, considering there's a very obvious crotch shot like, right in the middle of her wall? OMM WHAT HAVE YOU DONE.

Clearly I don't belong in discussions either because this is what it devolves into.

But yeah, not many people think things through on this show, do they? I guess they're also trying to justify how these kids aren't going to be moving on i.e. with other people any time soon, that if they angst, it'll probably be by themselves. This also adds to the conclusion that Naomi and Emily will be getting only one episode, and their story will somehow just be moshed together to be all, "look how happy they are!" and then a random obstacle that can be dealt with in one arc swiftly. But y'know.

What about Emily's porn collection? And the smorgasbord of hot ladies on her wall? I always got the feeling she's been grappling with her innate ghey for ages. The JJ thing was a stupid mistake (also because the writers are muppets) and Cook...well, alcohol is responsible for many a mistake. I don't think her dalliances with men meant anything, they were just...there.Also, Emily REALLY vibed gay to me, but maybe I'm projecting, because I followed my own "Naomi" for a year when I was 16 and I'm like, Wanda Sykes level of gay.

I love discussions too! I'm floored by the responses here. We're all so clever ;)

Yeah, I'd forgotten about that porn collection she had. I'm guessing that really was her cementing on the whole sex thing, and now in my head!canon she looked at all different kinds of sex there was, including some heterosexual ones where she only found herself interested in the women anyway by which point, she just straight up only collected the ones she liked. Incidentally, it only ended up just being a collection of straight up fannies. OH show, head!canon cannot even compare sometimes.

Yeah, so I guess I was just seeing Kat's inherent straight-ness bleeding into her very gay character, confusing a bi actress for a homo lady or something like that. NGH, BRAIN.
