Tell you the truth I'm not particularly enamoured with Cook, Freddie or the idea of them together at all. It literally happened after my friend finished watching season three and was incensed that F/E/C didn't become one big poly family. And then my brain wouldn't let go of it and thus story filled with epic gay man pain was born.
I dunno...I grew to like Freddie quite a lot. He's a whiny douche, but he's also proven himself to be a good friend on numerous occasions so I wanted to incorporate that in this story. And if there IS something season four did well was to convince me how deeply Freddie and Cook love each other. They're so different and yet they fit ; Freddie's an indecisive introvert and Cook is an impulsive loud mouth. But it works. Luke was never better than when he was paired with Jack and I eventually grew to love their scenes. Probably the most surprising thing about this story was how much I enjoyed writing it. I never thought I'd write Frook, but there you go...
And I've been convinced Freddie and Emily would have been good mates. They're both moody romantics with pretty hair. WHY WHY WHY didn't we get to see more friendships between the gen 2 kids, Jaime, WHY!!!!!!

Eeehhh... When? (I not trying to be rude honestly! Hee, I'm just not sure I see that so I'm curious what I've missed/blocked out of my mind. Hehe, I can be quite selective with my memory tbh espesh when (negative)bias is involved). Like, I think he was a good pal to JJ mostly, but I found him a little too self-absorbed otherwise. I have a lot of issues with the things that Freddie chose to be, but I'll concede that I did feel the love between Cook/Freds quite hard at certain points in S4. But personally, I think that's more cos I tried to see Freddie through Cook's eyes and I think it was dead clear that Cook loved Freddie more than anyone else in his life.

Heh, yes. Yes, it is. I actually... Emily deserves a little happiness so I personally think she gets a nice little story. I couldn't devastate her again. She actually is quite pivotal, tbh. I honestly can never totally let go of Naomi/Emily so... yeah. No worries.Gotta give the girl a break. :)
