JJ's character's "voice" is the easiest for me to write, probably because he has such a distinctive way of speaking...in a lot of ways that makes a character much easier to write for. But he's adorable and lovely and although he isn't a big part there is an undercurrent running throughout of JJ's estrangement from his two best friends. F/C’s destructive relationship is alienating JJ from them. I think in a weird way he'd be relieved they got together as long as it meant they'd stop fighting so much and started treating him like a equal and not their special little brother whom they allow to tag along with them to parties. Anyway, yes, I love JJ <3 (*cough* new chapter of the bends? *cough*)
I tried my best to capture Cook in all his inconsistencies. I didn't want to shy away from his more unpleasant attributes. At times here he is cruel, dismissive, violent and jealous. On the other hand, there's a reason why Freddie, Effy and JJ love him. He is also very loving, very committed, fun and caring. The length of this story allowed me ample time to explore Cook's character. I'm chuffed you liked him in this considering you write him so well in your stories.
