Saturday I went up to Waco for the Baylor Homecoming game. It was actually a game all the way through, which was amazing. I thought for sure that Missouri would blow Baylor out of the water, but it didn't happen.
Actually, I only watched about the last five minutes of the fourth quarter. I ended up meeting up with a friend I haven't seen in awhile, and we hung out for a couple of hours. We caught some of the game on the radio, and when I realized that it was close, I figured it will be worth going to catch the home stretch of the action. I'm glad I did, and was able to applaud the team for their efforts. There have definitely been some major positives out of this year, and if Baylor is able to grow as a team under the new coach, then they are going to make some noise in the Big 12 South in the next couple of years.
Afterward, I came back to Austin, went over to Tom's place and yelled for the Red Raiders. That was an incredible game. This probably portends badly for the Baylor-UT game next week. The Longhorns will be out to right the ship, and Baylor looks like the perfect opponent to do that against. Hopefully, we can prove a tough test. I'm not expecting a victory, of course, but I'm hoping we can at least make it competitive.
