strangest week ever
Well, I'm not totally certain that this past week was the strangest week of my life, but it was certainly the strangest one in recent memory.
Where to begin?
My best friend visited. She arrived a week ago. Prior to her arrival, she'd send me texts or say things online like, "OMG I can't wait to see you!" or "What are we going to do?", etc. Basically, it felt like she planned on staying at my place, of course, and spending a lot of time with me, her best friend. She has friends (including an ex-boyfriend) in Maryland, and of course she needed to see them as well. But I figured that since she was staying at our place, she'd spend a lot of time in NoVa with me and the girls.
Wrong. She spent most of her time in Maryland. This wouldn't have been a problem if the trip had been sort of planned where it was known that I was a place to stay, and that she'd end up spending a lot of time away. But that wasn't the nature of the visit, at least from my perspective. I ended up being free room & board anyway. And the one night we did hang out together and went shopping and saw a movie, she spent a good chunk of it texting people. Fantastic. /sarcasm
Anyway, long story short, another friend and I found her having sex with her ex-boyfriend in the backseat of my car (which I lent to her). At 2:30 in the morning.
So...she packed her shit up and left, and that was that.
And then I went on a date on Thursday night. I was really excited about this date, and I had intended on confiding in my best friend about it, but obviously I never got that opportunity. So no one knows. I've been on many dates in the past year, but Thursday night was my first date with a woman. It was pretty exciting. And she is very nice. We'll see where it goes. I wish I had an actual friend to talk to about this, but I don't feel ready to do that yet. My best friend was supposed to be that person, but she fucked up, so...whatever.
So that was my week. And now it's snowing heavily and I'll be stuck in the apartment all day tomorrow and I have so much to do before I leave for Turkey on Monday. Good luck to me!
